I'm really worried about the lore. Anyone who has played SC2 knows it was a complete bastardization of the franchise. With the New Blizzard all about Style over substance I fear the worst.
P.S: Tyreals new voice made me cringe. The lines were incredibly cheesy ( the word Brother over used like Cowboy from SC2, my trap.... is sprung) Really... The series is turning from a really cool medival/gothic story to Spawn V2.)
Anyway I hope the game is good because I have no faith in the story/lore, Chris Metzen was at least kept in check back in the early 2000's but now it seems all the talent has left the company (in terms of story development) .
Also, there was nothing wrong with Tyreals original voice , just like there was nothing wrong with Kerrigans voice in SC1. In fact the voice acting was years ahead of what we have now. Hell the latest interview with Jay saying they wanted a famous hollywood actor is just ..... I will take talent over vanity anyday(If a bum off the street has the talent I would take it over a famous actor. )
I mean just look at the Diablo Beta. That Aba Hazil whatever his name is sounds incredibly cheesy and slapstick (I BEAT HIM OFF WITH A SHOE ANOTHER MAN WOULD FAIR MUCH WORSE)
Compare that to Paul Eiding (voice of Aldaris in SC1 and the Diablo 1/2 Voice behind the books) He gave a creepy vibe not some rediculas slapstick garbage.
I hope blizzard pulls something great but I have no faith after what they did to Starcraft.
Not everyone from the second game could return to do the voice again probably. Regardless, I think you're nick picking at it too much. The game is made, it is what it is. You can't change anything about it, so why not just enjoy it?
Tyrael's voice change was probably a necessary evil (pun intended), sometimes you just can't hire the same person and the reason for that probably only they know (specially since people's voices change over the years, sometimes for worse).
Personally, I liked the change. The Wrath movie wasn't amazing story/lore-wise but it was really well done, and that's what I was looking forward anyways.
I hated SC2 story, I'm with you there, it almost felt like a cheesy Hollywood cash-in movie, but I have faith in D3's story. Yes, like I had faith in the Avengers movie and it paid off have some faith "brother" (cowboy style :P)
well when i walk into the tavern i whistle the star wars music from inside the bar there they are playing u know when luke first meets han, classic, but i whistle that all the time lol
The only voice catastrophe I've been able to notice is the lack of Jay Wilson screaming in agony..... Jay I need to hear you suffer in this game if I'm going to enjoy it properly

"If you don't have a TV, then what is all your furniture pointed at?"
as long as in-game tyrael has the 'etheral' style voice where it slightly echoes. if its just plain like the animated short, THAT will be a disapointment.

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)
I'm really concerned that 2013 will be a shit year for me, I mean some events leading up to it have been less than optimal but i just know it will be a bad year because 2012 wasnt all that good. See I can judge things i have no possible way of know the outcome of too
You mean the makers and owners of the story, which hold the right to change the story and lore as they wish, changed the lore and the "old nostalgia" factor of the original, whether it was actually good or bad compared to the new is being biased against because most people assume old>new everytime? blah

We've already heard several important voice actors... I find it doubtful that they'll change those in release.
We've also had about 2 hours worth of story, more if you consider the area people got to because of the bug.
People can make educated guesses about things in the future. If we couldn't... well we wouldn't be able to schedule our vacations and other such things. We would be creatures that exist solely in the present and past, unable to predict things. I have been able to consistently predict how the following year would go for myself for the last 5 years. It is quite possible.
Also, people need to understand, it's important for consumers to voice their opinion on things. If we do not do so, we put all the power in the hands of the companies. It's our duty to be vocal, informed consumers. And sometimes as consumers we win a battle and a company changes something to suit what we want.
It is important for customers to voice their opinions of course, but judging a product before you have tried it is ridiculous, and the beta was hardly an indication of any major lore events. All i'm saying is people should reserve this kind of judgement for after they have played through the game so at least it is valid criticism rather than absolute drivel.
We can make educated guesses about the future but we can't be certain of many events that have yet to come, much like the d3 storyline which we have seen only a tiny fragment of.

First of all, you are haven't really read anything regarding the Diablo Universe or really incapable of combining any tiny tidbits of information.
Why?
The events that transpire there is more than 200 years prior to the start of Diablo, as it was the time when Jered Cain imprisoned Diablo, and it is being noted that it was 45 years after the establishment of Horadrim(by Tyrael) that Mephisto was caught and it Baal after him with Diablo being the last. Hence, we are talking about at least 245 years prior to the start of Diablo.
Furthermore, the Eternal Conflict is being halt with a truce at the end of the Sin War followed by the Dark Exile and the duration between this even and the establishment of Horadrim is noted to be 40 years.
In the end, the event in Wrath is at least 285 years prior to the start of Diablo.
Bear in mind that the High Heavens did not know of the terror spread by the Prime Evils during their exile as Tyrael knowing how they would react(Noting it as Burning Hells breaking the truce), had chosen to hide the information from them.
Now let me return back to my original point, angels and demons in this story is far from what is being depicted in Abrahamic religions or the conventional way people perceive them.
Hence, it is pretty much customary for the characters to change in a course of centuries, due to how there is no apparent war being fought with Burning Hells as well as how Tyrael had spent more time in Sanctuary than he has in High Heavens. It is stated in Book of Cain how Tyrael and Imperius were brothers in arms during the endless conflict and how they had fought together.
However, the events shown in the Wrath may very well be the stretch in their relationship as well as how their differences in their view of the Nephalem introducing another one.
Apparently, time concerned Diablo's( A demon known for his unorthodox methods of inciting terror) trap may very well have introduced either the first or the final stretch that is begin breaking up the Angiris Council, starting with the bond of Tyrael and Imperius.
is this referring to the animated short? it's an animated short, one off...
This, pretty much. Although I share some concerns with regards to the game, if this rant is based on the one anime short which is clearly a one off venture into another style and back... I don't think you'll have to worry about D3 being an anime styled game ;-)

If you think about it, it's actually a lot further back than that. The events of 'wrath' predate the sin war. before the sin war, angels didn't know about sanctuary, and demons weren't running rampant on it's plains. after the sin war, angels did not get involved in the world of man (except for tyrael founding the horadrim and aiding the heroes of diablo 2). The fact that this is a land where angels and demons are fighting it out by the boatload indicates that it is not sanctuary, but either heaven, hell, or pandemonium. I think it's hell because the angels are pushing the assault towards a stronghold run by demons, but it could also be pandemonium while under the occupation of demons.
It's probably one of the many many many many (reemember, eternal conflict) battles the angels had with diablo, except it seems this time is special because diablo had a plan or a 'trap' if you will, which is still unfolding throught the events of future diablo games.
The only thing that bothers me is that how could any of them have forseen the creation of sanctuary, unless it was already created (the demons knew about it long before any non-renegade angels did)
I can honestly say I have never stopped reading a book after the first chapter, I do the sensible thing and reserve judgement for when i've finished it. Some i have started and thought this is boring, but then by the end i think im glad i finished it. Others have started awesome and ended terribly. You don't have to have faith in Blizzard, if you stopped liking their story lines then why do you keep playing their games?
Diablo's trap was killing a ton of angels and seeing if Imperius could succumb to rage, even going against his brothers and sister's wishes - and the archangel did not disappoint.
It could also be said that this event narrated in Wrath is the seed planted by Diablo that would ultimately lead Imperius to cast Tyrael away from the High Heavens.
To me, this short animated is even bigger proof that Imperius will somehow go "mad" in Diablo 3, not only casting Tyrael away from the Heavens but also going as far as fighting us in the story (over something) - which is just awesome

I started the Hobbit. 50 pages later they were still in a forest looking at trees so I stopped... probably the only book I didn't finish.
