blablabla devs said game is sooo damnnnn hard lololotlorlololo
blablabalbla
i finish hell 2-3 days after release. nothing to discuss here.
if u really believe every shit spoken by some random art directors just to keep up the hype, enjoy ur disappointment
as ignorant as people will see this, its just the truth. everyone echoing blizzards words like how they've always been right in the past (lmfao!). you find out who the real ignorant blizz fanboys are when you start talking about beating their games
People who plan to rush to nightmare to get good gear are idiots.
They won't pass the gate of nightmare with the crap gear they will get, or by missing those 3-5 crucial levels of finishing everything.

I would say that with what we know at the moment, given the game guide info, the math behind it seems ok. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:
1. Randomization: DIII is built from the bottom up to randomize nearly every single portion of the game, from the level layouts to the mob packs. Rares and Elites will start to gain abilities that will mix and match into irritating combinations.
2. Information: Unless you were part of the lucky few who actually managed to get into the full beta (More on that later), you won't have any firsthand experience till after SK. Sure you can skip cinematic and NPC talk, but you still have to get there (see one).
3. Skipping Packs: I cannot say whether or not they balanced leveling on the assumption that you kill every enemy on the map, but if they have, you'll have to either spend time clearing entire maps (including the little side areas) to gain the exp that is being figured into the leveling process. You may be able to skip packs, but what happens in you come to the point to where you are too low?
4. Beta Advantage: There are those of us who have seen the inside of the game, and probably have gotten to the point that they have a reasonable grasp on randomization, information, AND what they can afford to skip in order to continue.
I would say that without knowing the first three and being the fourth, you are automatically behind the guys who do. Though, I will give you the benefit of the doubt as revealing any of the above would be a possible violation of NDA (if there is one).
My expectation is the leveling rate will not slow as much as you saw in D2 - but will be closer to WoW style. If you've noticed, WoW and D3 have begun sharing design features. Pretty sure there's a quote around saying how it was ridiculous amounts of exp to get level 99 in D2 but that the game only starts when you hit 60 in D3. They don't want hitting 60 to be a ridiculous grind, just a steady reasonable one.

yea im thinking the same. i think it will take much longer to beat hell than normal but not insanely longer like some people are thinking. like ive heard someone say 8 hours for normal and a week for nightmare and a month or two for hell. lmao. me and a lot of people on this site will be 60 and have hell beaten within a week. im hoping i can marathon ~14 hours on day 1 and plan to be at least a good way through act 2 Nightmare by the end of the day

I did the Beta with all classes, they all required more then 30min to finish it, even though I started skipping a lot of stuff after the second char.
But looking at it from a design perspective I don't see Normal mode taking longer then 20h for the "average" gamer, meaning if you are playing it fast and lose in SC you can probably do it in half the time. So question is if you reach lvl 30 in 10h, how long will it take to reach 60 from there ^^?
Nice exp graph btw. Looking at some of the data from the Brady guide, you can actually see the exp mobs give there, for example even though NM mobs have 10-15 times the hp of normal mobs the exp doesn't go up that much at all. Just a thought.
First run through with 2 other people we ran it in 30-45 mins. Just depends on the players and their style.
The thing I find most amusing is that most of these people who think they will hit 60 within 50 hours are basing their assumption on the time it took to complete what is commonly referred to as a tutorial of the game (beta). They will soon find out that maps will be bigger and more complex (where randomized dungeons are concerned) and mobs will be increasingly tougher to kill.
The unfamiliarity of the new areas alone will slow people down. I don't see anyone getting out of Act I Normal in less than 2 hours because of that alone.
Good luck to you optimists but I don't think you will be hitting 60 that quickly.

well if they get +xp gear and dont read any quests or cut scenes and rush as fast as possible i see it being done a lot faster than 50 hours

Possible, but rushing through could lead to missing packs of rares/champions which means you don't get the gear you need to progress through nightmare and hell.

No way it will take 30 hours, 60-70% of the community is going to marathon at least for 12-20 hours, we plan on playing until we drop, which is around 30-40 hours. I doubt we will hit 60 so fast.
Its going to take you at least a week for the super hardcore players, and about 3 weeks for the semi hardcore.
You're forgetting movies, listening to quests, talking to npcs, salvaging gear, training blacksmith, putting stuff on AH.
People who plan to rush to nightmare to get good gear are idiots.
They won't pass the gate of nightmare with the crap gear they will get, or by missing those 3-5 crucial levels of finishing everything.
A WEEK?! I think that's an overestimation, but we'll see.
Did you even freaking play diablo 2? Going from Normal to Nightmare is a slap in the face... then from nightmare to hell is even worse.
Gear will NOT be that easy to find just rushing through... wtf man?
My guess is that the person getting there first will have a team of people leveling and feeding said person all their loot. My guess is 5 days after release. 99.9999999% of the people playing this game (even uber-hardcore gamers) will not be hitting 60 in the first week. I'd put a lot a money on it.
lol talking about what is impossible before even played the game yet
i love those fanboiis, just keep on believing the hype
Yeah, like talking about finishing the game before it's even out. Oozing of contradiction there.
So, you haven't been listening about how you need Nightmare gear to play Hell, or how you need Hell gear just to be alive in Inferno? But hey, what do we know. So let's just leave you to contradict yourself some more.
People who plan to rush to nightmare to get good gear are idiots.
blacksmith
So, if you rush through normal, skipping many of the mobs along the way, then where will you get gold and items to make mats for the blacksmith? How will you get gear for +xp when you'll have limited gems and items to choose from?
Just curious.
People won't get gear from blacksmith since they won't have enough mats, SINCE THEY RUSHED TO NIGHTMARE. Meaning they lack the pages of training and the mats to make them in order to level the BS sufficiently.
Not to even mention the lack of gold from having to repair all the time, since they ARE going to die again and again and again.
obviously, you will not get too many drops in the beginning. Most of your "high end" gears will be from the smith. To upgrade the smith, you need gold. If the upgrade are exponential, starting from 2k (5 times I believe), by level 10, you need a million gold for each upgrade, that's 5 millions gold. Where are you going to get that much gold without fighting mobs?
Any true fan will take FOREVER to beat normal mode because they'll be so enveloped in the story and game itself that they won't want to rush it at all. There is so much more we haven't seen yet that could take much longer than getting to skeleton king and killing him.
It's cute that you think that all the acts will be just as long as act I on normal.
All these threads about people beating the game in the first few days, completing Inferno is a week, blah blah, it's all such crap. There's nothing you can say to these people though, because they are convinced that they know EXACTLY what the entire game is like, and they'll just breeze through it. I can't wait until the game is out and they'll most likely not be completing things when they thought. Of course then we'll have to listen to their excuses of why they were going slow, right?
Anyway, yeah, good luck with getting to 60 in a couple days, and completing Inferno in a week, and all that. I'll be taking my time and enjoying the game.
You think every Act of every difficulty will take 1.5 hours each to complete? I hope you're trolling.
skip cinematics
dont listen to stupid NPC talk
dont click every stupid barrel since the loot does not matter until end of nightmare
focus on finishing quest goals
??
profit
Remember that the best item in the game can drop from a barrel in act 1

I just wanted to point out, It will take 593,000 gold to completely upgrade the blacksmith.
