As the title says guys. I'm debating between monk or mage. I like the monk's ability to kill fast and the mage because my friend thinks the mage is going to be OP in pvp arena and he doesn't wants to play with a gimp monk
I'm playing the monk because I want to be the guy in my clique of D3 friends who is greeted with a, "THANK GOD YOU'RE ON" rather than, "oh, another barb".
I was lucky enough to be in the closed beta and spend time with all the characters; I would say the new and improved DH is my place. Although a close second is the WIZ. However I do not plan on just playing a single character only; I will start an alt as soon as I beat the game.

I actually had the same problem for a little bit because I was becoming more and more overwhelmed with the differences between all the classes. However, I've always been a melee/tankish class player at heart so I decided to hit the Monk first. I like the idea of buffing others while being able to dish it out and take it which is why I loved being a Warlord in DnD 4.0.
@ OP - go watch the video in this thread. It shows higher level skills on an emulator and will help you to make your decision. Remember it's an emulator though... take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully some of the skill animations and abilities will help you to make your decision.
To be honest, i cant make up my mind, i spent many hours on each class in the beta, and i still have no idea, my first HC character will probably be WD and then Monk, but for my first softcore run... probably barbarian, just for the nostalgia, since my first playthrough in D1 was as a warrior and in D2 it was a barb.
Demon Hunter because I am a ranged fiend from the Diablo 1 days. My level 50 (MAX for those that remember what that means) 3 dot rogue never managed to find her perfect Emerald plate of Precision
Barbarian for sure. I've had the most fun during the beta as the Barb, though a VERY close second is DH. Plus I'll be playing mainly solo for my first run through so it matters not to me if I have 6 friends who are also barbs.

I Love Godly Bows , High damage output capibility, and Vault is a nice addition.
Though I am scared about being "Oh great, another Barbarian", thats why I was so hesitant to go for it at first
Sorry but everything about this post makes me angry.
Gotta do what you love!
