This midnight release made me thinking, do I really want to stay all night to play D3? Will I be able to really enjoy it, to stay awake and have fun?
My first reaction to 00:01 release in Europe was - whoa, I'll stay till midnight and then play till the morning and maybe even longer... But, what's the point?
Wouldn't it be better to just chill? Go go bed normally, wake up, have a nice breakfast and then start playing?
Yeah, I'm a huge Diablo III fan, but I think I'll just wait till the morning.

What do you think, people?
I dunno about you but I'm able to play from 00:01 AND have fun and really enjoy it. Then again I'm the kind of person who stays awake naturally for 50+ hours.... So normal for me IS staying up and eating meals and playing D3 nonstop for a few days!
I'll start playing at 00.01 pdt, but not for 24h straight, I guess I'm going to beat normal at most, then go to work, and play, of course, every chance i get from there on.

Servers go live at 1:01 AM in my country.
after installing, downloading the patch, and playing
all the way to the SK king it'll be around 3:00 AM.
That's wayyy to late to "start" plaing Diablo 3.
I've waited years for this, I can wait another few hours.
My plan?
Go to sleep VERY early the night before (might have to
pull an all nighter the night before so I'll be tired enough)
5:00AM - wake up, install game & download patch
5:15AM - take care of my dogs
5:45AM - make a nice breakfast
6:00AM - PLAY
11:00AM - take care of my dogs
11:30AM - go to work
16:00PM - come back home, make some food and take care of dogs
17:00PM - PLAY
Gonna take a nap on monday in the late afternoon. Watch pawnstars and american pickers monday night. maybe nap again. 2AM CST, try to log in to D3 and see what happens. If blizzards service is spotty and laggy for that first hour 3AMish, take another nap. Try again at 6am. Rinse and repeat until servers are stable and I can go all out for act 4.
I get off work at 4:30 pm on monday. Then ill chug some nyquil and pass out till about 1am. Then i will wake up and do my 24 hrs of diablo 3 and enjoy life.
My sleep schedule is usually all over the place, so it depends what it's like at the time (but I'll probably be trying to steer it toward waking up really, really late in the day so I can stay up all night when the game is released). But I agree, there's no reason to rush, so may as well sleep if you have to and play it when you can enjoy it the most.
I think I'll be too excited not to play it right away.
Unfortunately, after the long wait for D3, this is the first time I'm unable to play a game at midnight release. My job requires me to be there every day, as I am in software QA and I am leading a full team of functional, localization, and compliance testers. So I'll be going to bed at midnight, up at 6:00 AM, off to work, back home @ 3:30 with the CE in my hands, and I STILL won't be able to play, as my GF will be spending time with me until 8 or so at night. Once she leaves, I can finally play.
Gonna be a long May 15th, I'll tell you that much.
I'll probably wait until tuesday afternoon because I work from 08-16h, and servers will most likely be quite unplayable right at midnight. But friday marks the beginning of my vacation, and also the start of a marathon of ass-klicking.

Dude... tell her to scram May 15th. She can give you that one day, especially having to wait the entire day bc you had to work.
As for me, I really haven't figured out my plan of action yet. I'm EST so kinda got screwed. Don't think I'll be staying up til 3am and I technically have work the next day but might call out. If I do it will be a full day gaming session!
I'll be ready to go at midnight and play for a few hours before I fall asleep, then wake up early and get right back to it. It's gonna be awesome.
That is, of course, if I'm able to play it when it comes out. I mean, I signed up for the Annual Pass and I'm getting through that, but I'm still worried that if it's anything at all like the Mists of Pandaria beta, I might have to wait a few weeks before I'm even allowed to play it. After all, the Annual Pass never explicitly stated when I'll get to play Diablo 3; Its release date hadn't been even been revealed at the time, and if Blizzard thinks that even the phrase "when it goes live" gives them weeks of wiggle room, I shudder to think what they might do with ambiguous verbiage.
Well I'm EST in America so it will be 3:01 a.m. where I am when the servers go up. I'll probably be asleep well before then, I will try to get up at 3 so I can start the install process for the game. Depending on how long that is going to take I may just go back to bed and start playing when I wake up again. If it installs rather quickly, then I'll probably grab something to eat and drink and play till I have to go to work the next day.
I plan on going to bed early on the 14th and sleeping until about 2 AM since it comes at 3 AM for me. Then I'll play all day as much as I can since I'll probably be starting summer work soon after the 15th.

Waking up at whenever BB opens and driving there.

read it again and it made more sense. (or does it...)
