So before we reach may 15, im concerned about servers. We have like 8 + ppl wanting to play with me and my friend but when may 15 is finally here, we wont have any way to communicate. So no way to know which servers we are playing on.
You might tell me ''Hey, real ID is your friend'' but sadly not all of these people actually plays a Blizzard's game.
So here is my question : Do we have any info on servers?
in D2 we had US east/west, Europe, Asia.
now in D3 we have
-US (servers)
-EU (servers)
We will be playing on US realms and i want a list of them if any1 knows what they are.
Everybody in the US play on the same "server". As long as nobody plays on Europe you will be fine.
Think D2 but with no Est/West distinction for NA.
On the other hand I have trouble understanding your situation........ in order to play D3 you need a battlenet account and therefore a realID or battletag. Just communicate those among your friends... And well there are plenty of ways to communicate anyway...
And 4 players is the limit per game.
yup everything the above poster said, they have to have a battle.net/Battletag to play, theres no LAN or offline modes, so just ask em for their email or their battletag and ur good to go

lol, im aware theres 4 player limit. (these 8 ppl arent always on at the same time >.>). Few of them doesnt plan on having an account until its released. NOW that i sorted out the obvious , Now there is only US or EU if i get it right?
Yes. In the game menus you choose which region you want to play in and then .... that's the only thing you can do to choose "where" you play. You just click join game or create game and there you are. And everyone from EU and US can join you (EU after they switch to US).

There is SEA (South East Asia) as well, and I believe that's it.

I doubt that. I've heard countless times about us Aussies making the choice between picking either SEA or US, how the US servers and its RMAH will be more vibrant and populated, and that Aussies should be getting slightly less ping on SEA than US.

For the Americas region, comprising the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia, the game servers will go live at 12:01 a.m. PDT on May 15.
So I'll be living in Europe for summer, but returning to the states in August. Therefore, I want to play on US servers in the long run. Is it going to super lag if I play US servers from Europe?
Well the entire Beta was US based and considering "some of the lag issues will not be present in the retail copy, because they need to be fixed on the client side and Live will do that"...
It has been almost perfect in Beta so I assume Live will be absolutely fine.

Ugh so basically Blizzard isn't giving Asia local servers, but instead just giving them a separate place to dwell so it doesn't swamp the solely English speaking US realm?
What I really would like to know is if the matchmaking system takes your location into consideration.
As in does it try to group US and SEA players separately, or German and French players separately and similar.
If not, that could turn out pretty interesting in terms of lag and language barriers.
Not that I ever plan to join a public game, but wondering nonetheless.

Probably not, you will probably be matched with french players while you are german.

Ha. Bagstone.
SEA players will be playing on US servers...
You pick US, EU, ASIA
An that's it, currnently three server choices total
It all points to separate "servers".

With the last patch you can choose within three servers to connect US, EU, Asia.
