You can download the client already, no need to wait for launch. Problem solved!
Not 100%. The client is still encrypted and will take time to complete the install once you register your code on the 15th. That will take around the same amount of time as it would to install from CD (As I mentioned above).
I already have my license registered on Bnet, and it won't take an i7 long to decrypt. I can probably have mine installed while yours is still reading the CD.
(Not enough longer to matter, but it was fun to say!)

CE for me!
Having a box copy of a game you love sort of adds sentimental value to it. You store it well with all of your other loved games so you can revisit them in later years without any sort of hassle. Also because when I'm bored I tend to read the game manual

In QLD, Australia we won't get to play until 5pm on Tuesday the 15th May. So we can pick up our boxes @ a midnight launch event or even at 9am retail opening hours, take them home.
Install the game, read the manual, get some sleep(if u get the CE you can watch all the goodies) then get up and get rdy to play D3.
So they can play as soon as the servers go life. Also, Blizzard will grant you a new (normal version) Diablo 3 key when you upgrade your digital version to CE.
Def. box. I dont really care about being eble to play at midnight, since the game will be released exactly one day before I have 2 important exams, and overall the last week of university (deadlines and shit). Thank you Blizzard....
I'm getting a digital copy from the Annual Pass (and cancelling WoW once the game is out) and then have a CE coming a couple days after release from Amazon that I'll tag to my bnet account.

Per Blizzard, those buying the digital copy will be playing as soon as the servers go live, barring a small launch-day patch. The install/un-encrypt will be done ahead of time.
i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.
I kinda regret getting the CE Box and having to actually go to the midnight release thingie. I usually pre-order stuff to avoid the midnight release thing, but due to how much I enjoyed beta I feel it's worth it. Those with the digital copy are lucky.

Keep in mind you have to pay for the full year to keep the D3 license. If you cancel the AP early your D3 license on your Bnet account will disappear, and you won't be able to play D3 w/o buying it. Your call. Having it on your HD w/o any key on Bnet won't let you play because you won't be able to log into the servers.
Edit: If you meant that you're canceling WoW when the full year is up, then that will work fine. Just don't do it early, unless you want to pay for a copy of D3 on top of what you've already paid.

how u cancelling? ur WoW account will active during one year
Ok i live in eastern time zone so servers live 3AM.
If i buy box at midnight can I install it and start patch and be 100% ready at 3am when servers go live?
Or do I have to wait to 3am to start patch which therefore I would just do digital copy since I have to wait until 3am for it to be unlocked/start decrypt anyways.

Depends on the algorithm.
