Been playing beta a lot lately, and I think that some skills shouldnt have time limits. For instance... the Barbs ground stomp...very useful but frustrating having to wait 30secs everytime to use it. My suggestion would be to make it a fury generator which only stuns opponents when fury is completely full only causing damage until it maxes. I think this would work well for a lot of skills. When fury is maxed you get the best results.
Another idea: add a salvage all button at the blacksmith and give him the repairs job back... makes 0 sense to do this a a vendor who sells crap. It'd be nice to go to a vendor and see something you could use once and a while too. And maybe its been talked about b4, but why is there no gambling? This missing feature needs to find its way back into the game...and again with a "chance" of getting a really good item and not just crap.
Lastly, does anyone have a clue as to when the community site might update the items page??? Seems to be a huge empty feeling for me at least to see so much of the content, but nothing useful on items.

"Gambling" items ala D2 that you can sell for real $$$ could present a whole new set of legal questions surrounding the game.
Interesting idea about the Barb's ground stomp... how could other Fury generators be modified to work similarly to your idea?

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.

I think that leap could possibly be used in the same manner with restrictions. Like as long as your landing on enemies you could gain fury and continuously leap from one enemy to the next. Possibly increasing crit hit percentage 100% when you are at max fury.
Playing devil's advocate it might be tuff on some peoples computers jumping around like an idiot LOL, but I am gonna assume that this will act the same as the Wiz teleporting.
But to keep the game to a more hack n slash like i think they want it, some skill time limits must go away. Hopefully people can come up with some ideas like these to get rid of the wait maybe not for release, but deff in a patch
For the ground stomp idea, if it stunned when at max fury you'd need to have it consume fury as part of the stun. Otherwise you could sit at max fury with spammable aoe stun.
Probably would work as a general rule:
0-99% fury: normal ability
100% fury: ultra version of ability, consumes X% of fury

It's already a Fury generator. And we don't get to spam it because it stuns. If you are needing Ground Stomp to be spammable in order to play the game properly, you might want to look over the available skills again.

There is no gambling in the beta because its a beta. There may be gambling later on in the game.
And you act as if playing the auction house isn't the same thing, only you get to pick what you "win".
Lastly, does anyone have a clue as to when the community site might update the items page??? Seems to be a huge empty feeling for me at least to see so much of the content, but nothing useful on items.
They said it will be updated fully upon release.
P.S. This post in all in bold and I have absolutely no idea why. Breakfast time.

- I am not sure your idea for the ground stop would work. The idea of having some abilities preform better when at full fury sounds interesting though. But ground stomp is a fury generator already, maybe you meant to change it to a fury spender or whatever.
-The repair gives me a reason to go to vendors, other than that i only visit them to sell non magical items and that rarely happens. It makes sense to give the Blacksmith the repair option, yeah. About the salvage all, i dont know i dont think its necessary plus it could cause some hassle and accidental salvages.
-About gambling, the crafting system is pretty much there to replace the gambling system from D2. If you think about it, they are pretty much the same but in D3 its more elaborated and makes sense. Plus, as others mentioned above me, it could be illegal in some countries considering those items will be worth real money, in one way or the other.

How is gambling with in-game gold any different than killing a monster to get an item? Gambling at a vendor: X% chance of receiving legendary item. Killing a boss: X% chance of legendary item drop. Both can be sold for real money.
I've thought about why they both cooldowns and the generator/spender system as well. The conclusion I came to is that there are some skills that the developers just decided cannot be spammed. They've decided that spamming these skills would be counterproductive to their intentions and therefore they've added a cooldown. You'll notice that some skills with cooldown's don't really even require much of your resources. Their are other skills that the developers wanted a player to be able to spam in moderation. For example, Arcane Orb. Arcane Orb is a powerful skill with no cooldown. Because of this, you can spam if a few times before your resources runs out at which time you have to wait for it to generate again. So there you have it, 3 types of skills:
1) Spammable (basically cost nothing)
2) Semi-spammable (no cool down but higher resource cost)
3) Non-spammable (cooldown required)
@ Azidonis Im not sure why you just shat on my ideas whole heartidly. Just some ideas... throwing them out there. Sounds like you found a way to take what I wrote personally... not my intention at all. And im not a noob at Diablo so your condescending undertones are insulting. Of course i dont expect vendors to sell you "godlies" just something maybe equal to or a fraction above your char level. And how is the auction house gambling "picking what you win" is in no way a gamble. To insinuate that im lazy b/c you think that "walking to the vendor" is my issue, is not at all the point there, you completely missed it. Its about simple logic. Why would a NPC vender repair your gear if you have a blacksmith?
I read somewhere that the developers were content with crafting being a replacement for gambling. Take that for what it's worth.
Yeh now that u mention it i think i read that too... i guess i just was hoping it could make a return. IMO i think it would make the AH even better.... more like a scratch off lottery ticket
Sorry for OT, but does anyone know if there's a general thread for beta discussion? Feels kinda pointless to create a new thread just to post my own experience.
Just post it in general discussion. A forum moderator will move it if they deem it to need to go elsewhere... in my experiences

Very true, but being +17 (30) im ok with it

You click on the anvil. It makes your cursor turn into an anvil and you can salvage everything in your bags in like 5 seconds.
I think you are just saying that because you don't want to make the 0.3 second run over to the merchant. This suggestion just reaks of laziness.
Welcome to Diablo... and virtually any other game with vendors. Did you expect them to sell you godlies?
