What an unneccessary comment. I make PLENTY to be able to afford basically anything I want outside of the most lavish cars and houses. I'm not getting the CE because it's "too much money" relative to the throwaway plastic crap inside.
It's much more like "hey these people have been waiting years for this game, we can easily throw in $5-$10 of extras and charge an additional $40+ for these CE versions." CEs have always been an easy cashgrab for major IPs of any producer. Oh, and if you justify doing because you want to "support blizzard" then you are fucking retarded. Blizzard doesn't need any additional support, it's small struggling developers and production companies that do. Every cent you spend on blizzard goes directly into Activi$ions wallet (who was a huge supporter and funder of SOPA). A bill that would have permanently shut down diablofans.com.
You guys are fucking sheep.
Hey.. take it easy there dude, don't want to burst a vein.
You are correct, Activision are a bunch of money loving douchebags, but Blizzard are a fine game company, that again and again creates amazing games, that never fail.
And it's true that the CE content is worth less then the money spend for it, so in that sense yea, it's a way to make people pay extra for less.
But do you think the game it self is worth 60$? of course it's not.
So basically you're doing the same thing we, the CE buyers do, only for less money.
The thing you don't realize is that we like the stuff inside. I don't care if it's cheap plastic. I like looking at that skull standing on my table. I like having that huge box sitting on my closet. And I REALLY like the art book, since it correlates with the line of work I do for a living.
The money we spend on CE is no more waste of money then you spend on the normal version.
We're just complete with our love, and you, in my humble opinion, are not.
This isn't true at all. Relative to the amount of time I will play d3, $60 is chump change. It's somewhere around 20 cents per hour of play, and that is at an incredibly conservative estimate.
However, the CE edition extras dont add to the actual game I want to play. The total amount of hours I spend playing d3 won't change based on whether I got the CE or not since there is no additional in game content to explore or fight, etc. I'm not doing the same thing as you. What you are doing is paying additional money for additional cheap plastic trinkets.
edit: lmao and this is my favorite part "The money we spend on CE is no more waste of money then you spend on the normal version.
We're just complete with our love, and you, in my humble opinion, are not."
Are you really saying "you aren't a true fan if you dont waste $40 on useless moneygrab crap from activision"?

lol... Well then. Thanks for your opinion. No, "nobody needs support." Well then your a selfish sad little man. Blizzard just laid off hundreds of employees. They don't do that because things are great. Also I am so sorry for supporting a developer that makes games you and I are both connected to on a fan's forums.. How does that make sense?
I support a lot more than Diablo. SC2 streaming, local bands music, friends, family, charity, small business owners, and this Sunday I am running a marathon for The Kidney Foundation against kidney disease makes me a "fucking retarded?" Right? So I support the little guys too, your argument is stupid. It basically comes down to:
I want stuff I like. I can afford it because I put myself through a good education, which got me a great job that pays great, so I possess everything I want including D3 CE. ShermenZ pretty much hit the nail on the head again.
I love the franchise and will drop dough because its worth it to me, if you don't think so well, that's your opinion.

Yeah did you even read? The employ lay-off was middle management bloat that happens with company growth over time. It's not a sign of a company struggling so much as a company just trimming fat of redundant positions. Blizzard is one of the most successful production companies in the world, LMAO if you think they are struggling to make ends meet. And I'm assuming you didn't even read the part where by supporting activision, blizzards parent company, you are indirectly supporting the illegalization of fansites like diablofans.com. You are literally helping get this site removed from the internet.

Activision was a major SOPA supporter. This contains copywritten activision content on it. It would have been completely within the scope of SOPA for diablofans (and pretty much all of cursegaming as a whole) to be forcibly taken down.
I recently ordered it, since I only got the money for it now, but been the plan all along that I should get it.

Knowledge is power for you have none. You fabricate yourself into thinking you know exactly what you are talking about when in truth you don't. You take a piece of a conversation and warp it into what you think is a great argument. This topic is about the CE and who's getting it, not blizzard, support of activision, SOPA, or anything else you keep bringing up.
Congrats for being you

Activision was a SOPA supporter because they were tired of people illegalling downloading there games, you can't really blame them, That is a major loss of money. SOPA would allow companies to take down filesites such as Megaupload(RiP), Fileshare, Putlocker and all those, Fansites such as Diablofans are usually well liked by parent companies since they branch the products out to people who might not usually look at this type of information.
For Example, Blizzard sent out 450 keys to each fansite, why would they do this if they wanted to shut them down? They want people to visit these fansites in order to get more information out to the public.
I have every Blizzard collectors edition of games from the last 2 years, but I also picked up the annual pass... I might get this collector's though! I want D2, the USB stick is 4GB which could come in handy, I love art books, I love SC2 avatars, and the WINGS!!! Ya, I recently got a new job, so I'll definitely be able to afford paying of my annual pass and upgrading my game. I just hope Futureshop or Bestbuy doesn't sell out. I never reserved because I wasn't sure if I'd have the post-graduation job in time for the D3 launch :/
Anyways, I think it's worth it! I love my SC2 and Cata collectors.

Yes, the power to take down your entire site at a whim isn't troubling at all. They would flesh out their products official sites and then shut down all fansites in a heart beat if they could to increase their own traffic. Your understanding of the forces and motivations at hand are terrifyingly myopic

I'm a 26 years old my hostile friend, and you?
Of course that's not what I'm saying... I meant that me and you work for our living. We are both grown men, and we decide what we do with our money. You decide you're willing to pay 60$ for a video game. Not charity, not food, not education, a video game.
I decided to spend an extra 40$ for the respect i have for these specific game makers, and for the extra trinkets that come along with the box.
When I said we're complete with our love for the game, what I meant is we're happy with our purchase, we don't care about other people's purchases, and you seem to be angry with me, a person you'll never meet.
No I won't take it, I'm not much of a collectionneur and the goodies you get will most probably get lost over time.
The only thing I'd like is the artbook, I'd pay a 80$ version for artbook + game but not 100$. I totally understand why some people do, if they take care of their CE that's good, if you are like me and don't take care of boxes etc that's more questionable though.
I am getting it. you people saying "too much money?"

it sounds like you are working just to be able to buy games, what a stupid thing to do in life.Because there are more inportant things just to waste money on some games :D. But whatever, not all people are like you who lives just for game, and will do all just to get some stupid collectors editions witch gives you nothing more than standart edition. You have same lvl cap, same chars, same relese date, and same opening servers time.So whats makes you so special with your better job then others?I will answear my question in your place.Your stupid childish brains makes you special, becsuse others are not so dumb, to waste money on some CE.But you I guess would hang yourself if you wouldnt get CE(collectors edition).
Okay so if by buying the Collectors Edition gets Nokturnal NOTHING more than the standard edition, then he is basically giving Blizzard an extra $40 dollars... who cares? Even if you see it as "a waste" or a "donation", what is wrong with that? He is spending more for a game he has been waiting for, and he has the means to do so... who are you to criticize that? People support certain organizations all the time with extra funds.
I think it is very honorable for Nokturnal to support Blizzard, and buy the CE if he wants it. That's his right and his choice. Unless you are his financial adviser, I would say that you should just mind your own business.
I know I'm a musician and I love Diablo's music, so getting the soundtrack from them will be worth it for me. I also I want to see the "behind the scenes" and more in depth on how they made it, or the reasoning behind certain changes and adjustments throughout the games development... I'm also an art-fan, and I would love to see the sketches and concept art book... LASTLY, I love Diablo overall, I love Blizzard and all their games, and I love all the great moments I've had playing with all my friends in Diablo 2, and the moments I will have playing Diablo 3, and all those great times you can't put a dollar value on...
Some people might see it as "A cardboard box with plastic things just to make more money" but to some of us it's beyond what's physically included in the box, okay?
No I won't take it, I'm not much of a collectionneur and the goodies you get will most probably get lost over time.
The only thing I'd like is the artbook, I'd pay a 80$ version for artbook + game but not 100$. I totally understand why some people do, if they take care of their CE that's good, if you are like me and don't take care of boxes etc that's more questionable though.
The shiny box is one thing, if you have an annual pass, it is actually quite the deal.
Diablo 3 - $60
Soundtrack - $15
Soulstone USB - $20 could be more since its custom
Diablo 2/Lod - $20
Custom USB holder - $10
Artbook - I'll estimate by ScII's $55.99 ( ya no kidding source: http://www.amazon.co...c/dp/B003XSYR8M )
4 Free months of WoW - $60
All ingame items - I'll just say $5 for the ingame WoW pet.
Grand Total if you bought all items individually $245.99, that's not bad for a $100 package.
If you have the AP its also like getting the collectors addition for $40 because of the 4 free months and the $60 it would be saving you.
Custome USB holder - $10
Artbook - I'll estimate by ScII's $55.99 ( ya no kidding source: http://www.amazon.co...c/dp/B003XSYR8M )
4 Free months of WoW - $60
All ingame items - I'll just say $5 for the ingame WoW pet.
Grand Total if you bought all items individually $245.99, that's not bad for a $100 package.
If you have the AP its also like getting the collectors addition for $40 because of the 4 free months and the $60 it would be saving you.
I don't care about any of those apart from the artbook which for me isn't worth 60$ My opinion stay unchanged but I totally agree that for someone interested in every items and willing to pay said prices 100$ is worth it.

XFD you poor delusional child

lol...
Becareful with that, Always check the Estimated Date of Arrival.

You are literally helping get this site removed from the internet.
release day delivery FTW
That is a little farfetched, nothing on this site is illegal, there isn't a NDA on Diablo3, so if its in the game files, its fare game.

Activision was a major SOPA supporter. This contains copywritten activision content on it. It would have been completely within the scope of SOPA for diablofans (and pretty much all of cursegaming as a whole) to be forcibly taken down.
Knowledge is Power!
- Also the Book of Cain is on the way for me <3
Knowledge is power for you have none.

The only thing I'd like is the artbook, I'd pay a 80$ version for artbook + game but not 100$. I totally understand why some people do, if they take care of their CE that's good, if you are like me and don't take care of boxes etc that's more questionable though.
