It would be cool, if they release it their time. Because i didn't get a digital copy. I'm going to the midnight release at my local gamestop. When they say the servers will be up at midnight and i lived in the PST timezone, people would have already been playing when i got back home. So since, i live in CST timezone I'll have enough time to buy snacks and drive home because we're two hours ahead
It works out either way for me. Since I live in Australia, we have one of the earliest times on Earth (GMT -11), so at release either we'll be starting off with everyone else at 5pm on the 15th (which is a great time to start playing imo) or we get to step into sanctuary first.
Granted I wouldn't feel like it's fair if the Americans finally had access only to find Aussies and Europeans already on Hell mode.
The End of Days approaches…. Diablo III is set to launch on May 15, 2012, and you can be ready to play the minute the servers go live by pre-purchasing the game digitally on Battle.net today. Simply complete the digital pre-sale process, and your account will be flagged for automatic access to Diablo III when it launches at 12:01 a.m. PDT on May 15.
Bold: PDT --> Pacific day time which is gmt -8 I think
Why are people drawing comparison to WoW when D3 isn't region locked and hardware is still split. If they didn't unify it then it wouldn't make sense: US players could argue they want to play on EU servers, which they have access to with their US bought game, and play at 3pm. Which of course in turn they have no way of proving or locking themselves in to.
As much as I was looking forward to doing an all nighter, fellow Europeans you just have to suck it up and be a night more patient.
This is actually pretty cool news for me. I'll get up early, let D3 start installing/decrypting at 9.01 am (I live in CET), take the train to the city and be there just past opening time. Pick it up and head back.
It's official and if not corrected until release it would be a consequence 5pm in Australia and again 00:01 PST - everyone can calculate his/her regional release time. Guess the thread should be closed as the question is done?
You know Australia has like at least 3 time zones. Sick of people equating the Eastern States to be Australia.
If it was midnight for each time zone Western Australia and places like Singapore would get the game up to 16 hours before America. When it is Monday in America it is generally Tuesday in Australia :D.
When cata was released which i think was 7th of december? cant remember, but instead of my local store having a midnight sale they just let me pick it up that morning when the store opened, and since im in NZ, at front of the time zone, it was still 1 day back in america and stuff, so i got my game early, but couldnt play the cataclysm servers till like 11pm ish. So i imagine this will be the same ,i just pick it up and will have to wait till 8pm( If servers are up at 12.00am 15th may PDT).
