Object is straightforward......keep enemies in front, generate fury with bash/cleave. Whirlwind/Leap Attack/Earthquake for AoE....Spear with Grappling hooks to deal with ranged.
Shocking mage. Should be able to maintain familiar, archon form, and has some utility spells available. Focuses on killing mobs quickly with limited survivability.
The idea behind my build, which in my opinion may not be the best, but totally fun, is a fast-paced close-quarters Wizard with abilities that revolve around getting in close, dealing your damage, using an WoE skill or two, and teleporting away. I had also considered taking a non-instant explosion for Explosive Blast, so I coudl activate it, Teleport into a group of enemies, let it explode, and then go to town on them.
This build is intended as an AoE Grindbot. I took complimentary aoe skills, while trying to measure the survival needed for such situations. I hope to be sustainable, and strong.
This is a simple, AoE barb build. I use the runestones to add some slow to my abilities, and have the AoE stun, in order to keep all the enemies within range of my AoE as best as possible. I utilize the barb's passives to give a little health steal and defense bonus, so he can stay in the middle of the fray as long as possible. This could be a tankish build, since it is designed to keep monsters near the barbarian and slowed.
Hi guys! Great contest idea!!! this is my fav subject!
So i want to build an Inferno WitchDoctor.
How i would set myself up is throw down an extended wall of zombie. Confuse my enemies and hopefully stun the rest that arnt confused. Then throw a Gargantuan over the wall to start grabbing aggro! I also thought it would be smart to give him the stun ability just to grab those extra seconds to get set up!!!! After this is all taken care of, i start laying out the damage with corpse spiders and locust swarms! If anything breaks the wall they will meet the doom of my firebats!!!
I still feel like this will be a very strong build for its defense capability!
Cant wait to play with you all! see you in game! good luck everyone!
Generated using absolutely no knowledge of game mechanics, just going by what the skills say, using a little bit of information from Diablo 2 as a baseline (armor = damage reduction, vitality = more health, etc.) Geared towards being an immovable object, specific to PvE.
The general MO is going to be to use Leap Attack to jump into the middle of a large pack of enemies with the rune to briefly massively increase my armor, immediately drop a Threatening Shout to taunt the enemies and debuff them, and then begin spamming Cleave for Rage and dumping that Rage into Rend (and Threatening Shout.) Leap Attack could be used to reach and taunt new packs of monsters or for the armor buff.
The Rend rune and Revenge will help me sustain myself while being pounded on by many enemies, and Wrath of Berserker (taken for the dodge bonus) is runed to last as I generate more and more Rage through Cleave spam. Cleave itself is runed to generate bonus Fury per enemy struck.
Passives are Superstition for the huge non-physical damage reduction component, Tough as Nails for the bonus armor and Thorns damage, and Relentless because I imagine I would be spending the first several seconds of each "pull" at low health as many monsters are beating on me. If that wouldn't be the case, Brawler would be a natural choice since I will be spending the vast majority of my time fighting more than 3 monsters at once. The build might not be effective versus single targets, though.
Here's the Wizard build I came up with. Many of the Wizard abilities excite me, but these seem to possibly work together and could make for an interesting play-style. Definitely will be interested in trying out the more close range Wizard abilities and runes once the game is released.
This build is for the solo wizard. It is very tanky and it picks up the necessary armor upgrades and healing blades. For damage, it includes the master skill Arcane Dynamo and Meteor. These two combined with the armor skills will allow the wizard to not only tank, but to melt his/her enemies as well.
Pure Glass Cannon, High Resource Pool, AOE Spamming Wizard
Basic Idea:
Passives/Armor skills to increase higher resource (arcane power) pool + damage.
Spam signature spells on singular enemies to max out pool.
Mana dump multiple NO-CD (important) AOE with highest dmg on grouped up packs!!!
Requirements:
Meat shield party members to take hits hehehehe
Crit dmg, attack speed, mobility and a bit of tankiness mostly for general gameplay imo. I do think these would make a great solo build. High dmg/attack speed and if it doesnt die right away well youll live to kill it no worries. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WeidRP!gSZ!ZccZZc
Some tactics:
Look at 2 skills , Disintegrate (Volatility) and Meteor (Meteor Showler) - this skills complement each other
At 1st casting Meteor for max area dmg (in ideally - 700% weapon damage for 2-3 sec while it happens) and while Meteor in casting i using Disintegrate for deal max dmg with my runestone (35% to explode by 425% weapon dmg then i killing them by Disintegrate)
In ideally we would have: 100AP (Total at starting battle) - 60AP( Meteor) + 12AP(self-regenAP) -20AP( Disintegrate)+12AP-20AP+12AP-20AP+12AP-20AP+12AP-20AP=0AP at the end of casting and in ideally total damage(without 35% to explode) = 1550% damage for all AP
Slow time (Perpetuity)and Wave of Force (Impactful Wave) for self-survival, but Wave of Force more situational skill will be for me. Energy armor (Pinpoint Barrier) - for getting some bonus to armor and get some increased of Crit Chance. Electrocute (Surge of Power) - for regenerate AP, in ideally = 1 use = +3 AP
Thanks for read this post. Hope i would win this beta key)
This is a Crit build for the Barbarian. Wrath will give me a strong single target cooldown, revenge procs for life gain, and insane aoe from 3 AoE abilities (plus the Brawler passive).
Basically it's a pure crit-oriented build for the barbarian, with frenzy as the fury generator and hammer of the ancients as the spender. Other skills are for mobility, long cooldowns for power-ups and of course battle rage for some more damage and crit. All about damage, *May* not be viable for end-game unless you have extremely good gear(my best guess).
Basically a melee sorc focused around survivability/putting the hurt on mobs when up close. Spectral blade healing for 8% of the damage done as my bread and butter attack, but casting arcane orb shield as needed + diamond skin when I know I'll be in the thick of things to absorb damage/explode once duration is up. Wave of Force for the knockback to reduce incoming damage and Ice Armor stacking my armor class up to +75% as long as I'm getting hit every ten seconds. With wave of force I went with the exploding wave rune, but impactful wave with the increased knockback + stun might be really helpful later on. Went with Archon as my final skill with a decreased cooldown to hopefully maximize uptime.
For passives I went with Critical Mass to reduce cooldown of abilities by 1 second on crits. This should ensure more uptime on archon and a lot more diamond skin/wave of force uptime and usability as needed. Since I plan to be in the thick of things I went with Galvanizing Force to increase the duration of my Ice Armor (increasing armor every time I'm hit up to 75%) and give me a health regen base of 890/sec. Last but not least, I went with Blur, for the obvious 20% reduced damage on top of my other survivability/healing skills.
How efficient/effective this build will be I am unsure of, but I look forward to trying it out as something different :). I wonder if it'd be viable on the later difficulties, or if Sorc's will just have to stand back and cast.
arcane mage ftw

It is a combo-build which is mainly focused on summoning, but also have Locust swarm for killing few enemies and Acid Cloud for killing masses.
