Hey all just wanted to know how much time do you think you will spend grinding before switching difficulties? I plan on leveling and stacking my guy with a significant amount of gear in that time frame. But I was just wondering how much time players are thinking will be required before getting into the heavier difficulties.

thanks!
I don't think it will be something that you can choose. It might just be that you will be forced to do an extra nightmare run or two before adventuring further into the next difficulty. Don't forget, they promised a hard game, and if it's anything like I hope it will be, it will force you to do a few runs before you can advance further on (excluding normal).
I don't think I'll specifically be grinding for loot, but I'll probably go through parts of each act multiple times before progressing. I don't want to rush through the game. I'd like to see as many of the random events as I can before I move on, and the added experience will be helpful. I'll probably wind up getting some nice gear in the process though.
i probably wont stop to grind until Hell before entering into Inferno
I'm feeling the same way. But judging by the difficulty of beta, who knows?
But more towards your question, I think it's to hard to say at this point. It took me 1.45hrs to clear beta for my first time which included clearing 95% of the map(estimation). So if I was a betting man, I'd say most the players will halt on Hell to grind for a little while, while the majority of hardcore players continue through until Inferno.
This is at least until the majority of players find the setting too difficult, and then we all know what happens then....
I would never stop to grind, except for a few small runs if I think that could (somehow) help. I'd rather stop playing and start over than waste precious time of my life on something as boring as grinding.
As alluded to in this thread I think any grinding will be a natural occurrence when the difficulty ramps up and you cannot proceed with the current gear or level you have.
I doubt many people will want to stop to grind gear in a difficulty level they don't plan to spend the rest of the game in either. With the AH and RMAH people can, if they want, purchase items to minimise the grinding they'll need to do to jump up a difficulty level as well. I know it was rough for me going from Nightmare to Hell in D2 way back when.

If I get my ass kicked, I will most likely reduce the difficulty.
But I prefer to move foward in the game, I'll change the difficulty as soon as I can.

...they head to the official forums to complain and ask for nerfs?
