I am not going to lie and say I was not a little upset at the idea of runestones going away. I want the opportunity to customize my class and skills in a variety of ways in order to play the class how I prefer.
I do get that farming for runestones in order to make life easier, while you are still trying to progress through the game, will become more of a grind than anything else. We would be looking at nearly 3000 different runestones in the game due to there being 100+ skills and their variations with each runestone. I can understand the problem if there are certain level runestone for this or that ability that is bugged. It would be a bigger headache than anything. I liked the runestone system but I do not want the game to be flawed after the long wait for the game to be released.
My opinion though is that this new system brings that customization into the game that we wanted for so long, but at the same time, it won't seem like casual players are losing out on the customization of their abilites due to a lack of time to grind out runestones.
I am also pleased with the UI layout with primary, secondary, class specific, and passive skills. Simple UI, but honestly, probably the most effective way when you want to enjoy the game and its mechanics.
I would assume when players start getting past Normal Difficulty they will be thankful for its simplicity.
I am excited to check out how others will manage their skills throughout the game, and to be able to customize my own when a new skill calculator comes out to play with. Next step is to sweet talk Force into a beta key so I can test it out.

I completely agree with the last sentence. Cant wait to start making strange builds with rune skill combos, let alone team building. Also hope they add world pvp; thought it was stupid to take out because of ganking.
I was really looking forward to the trading aspect of the runes and even hoped they would expand on it by adding random stats as other items have. However, I understand the shortcomings of that system. I very much look forward to testing out and since I never got to avtually play with the old system, I won't feel like I am missing too much.
