Don't get me wrong, the game already looks great as it is and I applaud Chirstian Lichtner for the great work put into D3. But for some players, we'd love to have this feature that currently isn't in the game. I like the sharper image but that's just me.
Well since we don't have any official word and may not get one, I may just hold off on it for a month or two and see if anyone got a warning or *gasp* got banned.
Thanks for that, I guess their official stance is still undecided. Like I said earlier, i will hold off for a couple months and see what happens. The only feature I like is the Sharpen tool. I tried it on my 22" 1680x1050 and my 32" 1080p, you can definately notice a difference in sharpness on the latter.
For those of you who are not really into DirectX programming see it this way: the main effect used here is the same as lowering your saturation (colour setting) in your monitor, but on a software side. Since you are not adding or removing any information to the games display it should be no problem ban-wise.
if you don't like it, just carry on? nobody cares whether you like it or not, we just wanna know if it's bannable. i don't see why it would be but better stay on the safe side.
I kinda like it, especially the sharpening option. With it the game is more detailed, you can see clearly small things on your gear, environment, mobs etc. Desaturation is nice aswell but up to normal, beyond that colors starts to perish.
Would be nice from Blizzard to hear their opinion on this stuff.
That's the main reason I like this Pixel Shader thing. When you turn on the Sharpen effect, the tiles and wood on the floor show even more cracks. The level of detail in the game increases quite noticeably. Everything becomes more clearer and much more detailed.
Blizzard has left the "official" thread about this up at the official forums for months, i see no reason why Blizzard would be against it, since it doesn't temper with any game files.
I prefer the game how it was designed. We've seen this much || of a game this big |------------------------------------------------------------|.....
Cheers to posting a video with slightly darker contrast so you could get the addaboys and hoorays from a bunch of random people. Blizzard 1,000,000; people who think they could have made the game so much better still 0.

I don't like it myself honestly. Considering it is also heavily based on a small fraction of Act 1 as to what we're seeing right now, I bet people using this will eventually encounter several areas of the game later that just look like total crap in comparison to the normal game displays.

And neither do key macro utilities, however, I suspect you may get banned for using one of those.

People seem to remember Diablo 1 and 2 being darker than they really were.
