We are getting D2 HD and D4 AT LEAST this Blizzcon. This is the current minimum after the great news Matthew Cederquist dropped for all of us at Gamescom.
Potential hype killers could be:
- No D3 DLC/expansion/big patch
- D4 too cartoon and/or pay to win
- D4 releases 2022+
Besides the above 3 hype killers there is nothing to worry about. When the Blizzcon schedule appears next month we are going to see Diablo opening the ceremony. Then just set up all the clocks in the house for the right time and enjoy the show!
I dunno, we have to see the Switch release date for D3. If they push it after Blizzcon, D3 probably gets new DLC, but I still don't see them releasing new expansion since I expect D4 to drop in 2020 and from 2019 to 2020 one DLC will be enough.
Cool!! At least something happen with the Diablo franchise. I really hope this will be Diablo 4 without any pay to win and esport style. Diablo 3 in maintence mode and i dont think a new class or a new dlc can change this. Maybe a new exp can, but a player who play more than 1000+ hrs, an exp can not show new. The same old farming in the same old game. Need a new game, new basics at least.
So after gamescom I am starting to think that they will announce on Blizzcon D2HD and DIablo 3 turns free to play with classes and other stuff released as DLC in the store.
Quotes and direct reply don't seem to be working for me BUT-
I haven't played D2 in at least a year, so I see how some hints would be easy to miss, but I'm hesitant to be 100% sure about anything.
I like a lot of the possibilities brought up here: I'd love a D2 HD release, and I'd love an open world type of game, the only thing I want is for D3 to tie up its loose ends, which will hopefully be done with a DLC.
I'm cautiously optimistic, because we've been burned at every blizzcon since Reaper of Souls and Necro, but very hopeful that this time they're actually serious with some announcements lol.
ToBeRuined, I was skeptical about new D3 stuff, but with this release date I have to say they go for the triple hit - D2, D3, D4. The waiting until Blizzcon is going to be painful.
Most exciting 3 months (until Blizzcon 2018 start) Diablo wise since the D3 announcement in 2008 are here! It's been 10 years after all!
D2 HD and D4 pretty much officially confirmed in this video.
D4/world of sanctuary or wtv it will be called i def. agree, it's pretty much confirmed at this point, but D2 HD is still kinda in the air imo though...

Hey guys fuuuzie here again! I've watched the BlizzCon Kickoff video and besides the vote your panel theme (head to head with wow) I was pretty sure they intentionally teased Diablo a few times during the talk. I believe that given the obvious teases in this video, we might actually get some exciting news. If you haven't watched the KickOff video, gi and watch it now on the BattleNet Application (BlizzCon Section) it is free to all to watch! And give me your opinion on this! Thanks guys!
Another hint for Diablo 4 comes from the HS official forums.
The Hearthstone forums are getting an upgrade! Starting the week of October 1 2018, the official Hearthstone forums will be moving to Discourse.
*Update* The Hearthstone forum transition to Discourse has been moved, and is planned to occur closer to the end of 2018.
The above quotes are from 6 and 4 days ago. What we know is that Blizzard has one website team caring for all of their games websites. So, why something so easy to do, which is planned to happen this month, is delayed with 2 months? My guess is: They are working on a new website atm and it is for Diablo 4.
My first thought from the Blizzcon schedule: They have more to reveal from Diablo 4 than just an opening cinematic. Lots of empty spaces in the schedule, which are usually kept for the major announcement game. Looking as good as it can be. Showing us gameplay means game drops 2020 for sure.

HYPEEEEE!
That's my thought as well; we should see some type of cinematic plus some gameplay video of whatever they have planned next. And I would not be shocked with an announcement of a D2 remaster as well.

Many people are mentioning that there are hints that they are doing D2 HD re-make. Where are people getting this from?
D2 HD hints are all over the place:
- Job postings
- Classic team launching new WC3/D2 patches
- WC3/D2 serves side updates
- Leaked D2 PTR client (closed now)
- Switch demo with D2 Diablo in it

Skelos, how can you be so sure that following scenario isn't possible (highly unlikely though):
- D4 2022+
- D3 Expansion 2019
"High technology job postings?"
- could be a huge engine revision for D3
"D3 is old"
- D3 China, console and switch aren't and Blizzard wants to keep old computers capable.
"D3 beyond repair"
- D3 RoS also made grant adjustments
"What new there could be?"
- new classes
- new act(s)
- runewords and jewels
- endgame campaign & new rifts
- paragon rewamp etc
Just curious what's going to happen.

Yes, we shall see. Either today or after 2 months. I'm sure we have crossed the point where Blizzcon can't be without grant Diablo news.
I mean "crossed the point where can be". Can't edit post.
Yep, Diablo opens Blizzcon ceremony like 100% sure.

I ordered it, too.
Haha, as if we haven't waited long enough, let us wait 2 more months. Well, that's not much, really.
Interesting to see new theme, too.

Interesting! Still about 6 weeks to go.
Yeah, counter on the front page would be very nice - hype train rolling!
