What do you think you will do with the first 24 hours post release?
Here is my 7-step plan for absolute D3 MAYHEM(subject to change, of course):
1. Call off work
2. Take a power nap of 2-4 hours
3. Shower
4. Eat a high calorie "breakfast" washed down with copious amounts of Red Bull
5. Lock myself in my room to prepare for the MADNESS of a 14+ hr MARATHON of recently downloaded Teletubbies episodes
6. Eat a granola bar.
7. Sleep.
Tell my fiance, well in advance :), that I might be a bit busy 2-3 days after release and I hope she can understand that because the fucking wait is finally over.
Do what I did and let her have a girls night out. I told my wife I'd give her cash for O'Charlies with her mom and she can go to a movie or something. I planned on scheduling that day off work the second I hear a release date.
the hours before release i will sleep, go up 30 min before release and get all stuff to my computer (candy, drinks, some food)
aaaaand then hug my gf and say "BRB AFIRL 24h", she will gett it shes equally nerdy when it comes to "Torchlight 2" when it comes out...
closest weekend il go to a friends house and we will lan, play the game on Hardcore nonstop from friday to sunday eating crap pizzas, drinking soda, maybe watching some movies and having a fu*king blast time! best thing to do ever!
as i do for real in school i hope the game releases soon enough so that i can write a report on it (gotta write a 20 page game game analysis some time over this spring)
First things first, I will hopefully sleep from 7:30pm to 11:00pm the night before so that I have just enough time to pick up my pre-order from the midnight release at Gamestop and be as rested as possible.
When I get home with the game the I start the installation.
While waiting for the installation to complete, I shut off my cell phone, unplug my house phone, and block out any light from the windows in my game room (It has to be dark and feel like a dungeon for any Diablo game).
I begin to cry. Is it the fear of facing the Lord of Terror? Is it excitement of crushing demonic beings? I don't k now, but my tremors begin to give me the feeling of completeness and a hole in my soul slowly starts to fill.
I launch the game and choose my character. A monk named BANT4M is ready to free the world of sanctuary from the dark forces of evil and begins his quest.
I play through the night to early morning.
My wife, who supports my Diablo addiction, wakes up and get donuts, pizza, and mountain dew to fuel me thoughout the day.
I'm actually going to try to do some bursts of like 4-5 hours. Play through the content solo for the first run =P
Also, keep in mind how long has it been since we have been waiting? Lol D3's servers are going to essplode. Should call a couple days off work in advance =)
As the suspense builds, I get more and more excited, so my wife and I will surely be taking a day off (or two?). I want to get a CE, but both my wife and I will already have a copy from the WoW annual pass, so I won't be afraid of ordering online or waiting a day or two before I pick it up.
If we can swing it, we'll do what we did with the Cataclysm release and head to bed as early as possible, then wake up at ~2:30am (11:30pm PST) to get ready to go. It is much easier if you get a day of prep time - I think I was able to go to bed really early the day before and stayed up all night, then went to bed in the afternoon again the next day. That way, I have no problems playing ~24+ hours and my sleep schedule gets right back on track. Of course, we'll have it preinstalled and ready to go, just gotta wait for the servers to be flipped on. =)
Although, that's assuming it goes live at midnight PST and not midnight in every timezone independently. Just gotta shift the time table slightly if they do that (which I don't expect.)

Blizzard has gotten really good at these sorts of releases - I don't expect any major problems or delays.
The first 24 hours will be a mix of playing D3 and being with my girlfriend ( shes coming to the release party). Im also hosting a release party with my friends so the first 24 hours will be interesting. O and going for a few coffee runs.
1. take nap until midnight release, game will already be downloaded and ready to play
2. get snacks and beverages and sh*t/piss buckets next to desk
3. play for as many hours until my body gives up and i fall asleep in mid play
4. do it everyday till right before my wife prepares divorce papers
5. wait a week and repeat in conjunction with wife anger/happiness ratio
6. if all else fails kill that ho and continue to be happy
