Critical hit chance might need a cap due some strong proc on critical hits mechanics (ex: http://us.battle.net...e/critical-mass). However precision does really suck hard, so i see no need for a cap.
Another possible candidate was movement speed. But MS only appears in boots so theres no way you can stack it...
I think that they said every piece of armour can be socketed; meaning that you can up stats to be huge with gems. Enchants can also up stats by 100 or 150 I can't remember for sure. So if you enchant and gem all your equip what's to say precision will suck. It could be op
Sorry had to edit one thing: I don't think you can enchant everything! Probably just weapons and armour but they said somewhere you can socket everything! Unless they changed this... Socketed ammys
Yes, I don't really see them implementing hard caps for any stat really.
Diminishing returns will certainly be in though which essentially sets a "soft cap" when a stat just isn't worth stacking anymore due to the minuscule gain you get per point.
I don't think they need to bother with "caps" of any kind. The easiest kind of cap is to just make sure that the total amount of any stat possible, given what can randomly appear on gear, is not going to break the game. You have X number of slots, so if your "cap" is Y make sure that the max stat given per item is less than Y/X. It's probably slightly more complicated than that as I assume that different slots will have different stat maximums, but maybe not, maybe it will be the same for everything.
Regardless, I think this is a very easy thing for them to figure out, besides only Defense really matters, and I suspect it's not completely linear.
Crit chance is capped at 75% as far as I know, atleast in the client display. Defense, resistances, armor have diminishing returns, so there is no cap. Attack and Vitality are linear, no cap there either. Ias might actually have a hard cap... but we don't know.

I think the game will be very broken if there are no caps but D2 was pretty broken but I still enjoyed the game through and through!
Could anyone speculate which will it be caps or no caps (or ask on the official forums)
