so with all the new stuff in D3 i just wanted to make a list of all the stuff they've changed for the better and why D3 will be so awesome:
1. shared stash - no more losing items from your game disappearing or your "friend" ninja looting you
2. individual loot - no more ninja looters in games, your loot is YOUR loot (this is by far one of the BEST new things)
3. rune system - creating 1000x more viable builds PER class VS. D2 which only had about 30 viable builds between ALL characters
4. crafting - so you no longer do 1000 MF runs and come up with nothing, because all the "useless" items you looted from those runs can be turned into scraps and then into decent gear (not the BEST - but the lvl 60 craftable gear is still real nice)
5. Followers cant die - no more wasting 50k+ gold to res your merc when he dies for an insanely stupid reason >_>
6. Inferno - hell was somewhat of a challenge at first but it wasnt too hard in D2, hopefully inferno will add that extra challenge to make the game more exciting
7. no more boss runs - this list isn't in exact order because this should be near the top, able to farm the ENTIRE game VS. just bosses for loot makes the replay ability of this game 10x higher then D2.
8. No more rushes/runs - probably number 1 best thing. I got the impression you could skip quests if you join a game of someone on a higher one, but you wont get XP if the monsters are too high so you'll have to go back and kill monsters yourself because going through the game normally WILL be the FASTEST way to gain levels. and another thing that prevents rushes/runs is the new Bnet, you can no longer create your own games with your own names and with only 4 ppl per game itll really deter from runs/rushes making it take literally 20x longer to reach lvl 60.
9. No Immunities - in D2 those pesky immune monsters were EVERYWHERE, especially in hell, so you basically had to either run away or create you build with multiple elements of killing, making you far less powerful overall. and EVEN THEN there would be DOUBLE immunes so you literally couldnt kill those. this will make it so WAY more builds are viable end-game.
Game rush loop hole:
Trist runs 1-15, tombs - 15 - 20, cows 20-25, *get rushed by whoever* , Baal runs 25-45, *get rushed by whoever* baal runs 45-65, *rushed again* baal runs 65-75, chaos runs 75+ --- doing this i could get from 1-80 in literally a few hours. used to be worse when you could uber tristram your way from 1-80 in 10 min. lol. ruined the entire playing of the game since pretty much 90% of everyone did this. hopefully D3 wont have any good ways to recreate this type of "loop hole".

1. No more max vitality builds
2. No more skill point maxing for 1 or 2 skills
3. Action House
4. Gender selection
5. Arena
6. No Paladin
7. Barbarian returns
8. Server based code for less hacks
9. No unkillable immunities
10. Weapon based spell damage
Shared stash and individual loot tables make all the difference in the world for me. Also the fact that I no longer have to brave the tediousness of skill points, and choosing to level up strength vs health. Diablo 3 is starting to look light years ahead of D2, but then again it's been 11 years since it was released.
I agree with the things on your list! Especially the shared stash, and how big it is! I think there's 60 inventory spaces as it is, then in your stash there are 5 tabs of 70 spaces (if I remember correctly) so there's 350 spaces in the stash alone... And items don't take up as much space as they did in DII, so far I've only seen things take up 2 slots max. And there's no charms to fill up your inventory! Not to mention you can vendor things on the go or bust them down for crafting mats - so inventory space shouldn't be a problem while you're out killing. This is something I really, really like!
No more attribute/skill points make me super happy.
Hirelings not dying is awesome. Also that their appearance actually changes with their gear is awesome. They can also use rings! And being able to pick skills for them is a nice addition to further customize them.
Also, I like how the quest flow feels. You really get into it and it's not like DII where someone sends you off to do one thing, then you're done with that you go to someone else to do another thing... It feels like there's more of a goal to it in DIII and your character actually converses with the quest NPCs, so it feels like you're more involved instead of just taking an order from someone.
Awesome list! Another thing I look forward to is being able to add sockets to items and un-socket gems. D3 seems to be more about using your items and skills as you go along, which sounds like a lot more fun than D2 where it was more about hoarding everything.
I'm most excited about the personalized loot, rune/build system and no more boss runs.
I CAN see how viable builds will produce nearly an infinite number of "Nuh uh! My build is better and here's why...." threads - I think public games could be very interesting - you'll never be quite sure what to expect when you group up...
They can still "die" when their hp goes to zero, though they go on the ground and stay there until you click on them, which instantly revives them, same deal for multiplayer.
you mean people can revive other players?

It's true that followers go to zero HP then a few seconds are back in the fight. Blizzard commented on this somewhere, they basically go unconscious for a short amount of time.
I'm not sure on reviving players in multiplayer, but I'll test this out later and let you know unless someone who is in beta knows already and makes a post here.
Eroon, dont even go there or this thread wil get locked aswel, think befor you talk.
I did, think and REALLY don't think guns fit into the Diablo universe, so I hope that it will never be in the game.
sadly he has a point that guns may be in the game. because if the DH has grenades and explosives, a gun is just a metal object with gunpowder (also used in old school grenades) to shoot. so in an expansion it wouldnt be a surprise to see guns enter the picture. unfortunately.
honestly i dont think even grenades or explosives belong in diablo... but it is what it is.

Or perhaps the grenades could be concentrated hatred magic that explodes.

slow motion screen shot the grenade, if its literally a grenade then he's right, if it looks all magical then your right.

Even if it looks like a grenade aesthetically it could still be used to store the explosive hatred

thats definitely a stretch.... well how about the "turret" ability eh? if the demon hunter has the skill to create a auto attacking mechanical turret... why not a gun? lol

lol, well technically all trolls are people. but there is a fine line between douchey trolling and playful trolling
Anywho, guns don't fit the diablo style. They don't seem to fit in to the overall mood setting of the Gothic era. Though there were cannons in that time the ability to condense the cannon down into a handheld version wasn't yet conceivable due to the pure destructive power of the use of gunpowder back then would render all gun prototypes broken in one use from sheer force of the propulsive explosion. Also arrows would have been easier to obtain since the only materials you need to make arrows are wood and rock, while the gun would take lead bullets that needed to be cooked above temperatures of 621.43 °F and then made into as close to perfectly spherical balls as possible or else the bullet would swerve drastically off target.

Yes. They can even finish clearing the room if you die.
