If you have multiple seasonal characters, do you have only 1 armory, or 1 armory for each character?
It is 1 armory per character slot.
Why would it be global when its impossible for a Barb to equip a bow. And Why does it matter if its seasonal? You can have 2 seasonal characters. 13 non seasonal. It is not global. I honestly don't know why you just didnt hop into LIVE servers and just test it. those builds NOT perma saved. you can override it.
Sorry but logic got thrown out the window once this was posted.
@Kamui he might not have two character slots available. I'm always short of those as well, so I think it's a fair question.
I was actually wondering myself about this; I'm thinking of making a second monk because 5 armory slots aren't enough for me at the moment, plus I could have one support monk and one DPS monk (different paragon allocation, it's annoying having to change this manually everytime).
For example my wizard and crusader both using goguk and striken so each time i want to use the other i have to remove the gems manually and drop them into my stash.
What I have is a profile called "EMPTY" as the #5 build for every character. It's just a profile of any of the builds minus legendary gems and "shared items" such as jewelry. Every time before I switch character or log out I quickly select this profile and then put the gems from my inventory into the stash. It's my workaround and it works pretty well.
In that situation, you being a friend of your friend will have to either explain the build to them over comms, spec into the build and have them view your profile once it updates, or direct them to an appropriate build on say a site like this one.
I doubt the Diablo's developers are overly interested in the labor hours to code the game to let people inspect all the armory builds of every character in the game, especially considering they removed the inspect button all together and we now have to "view profile" as a work around.
As long as the shared gems/items are in your general stash... the armory will find and equip them.
I usually just throw the jewelry (with the shared legendary gems) in an empty stash spot, switch over to another character and then 'equip' whatever build and the armory profile pulls the gems out of the jewelry in the stash. As long as the gear doesn't change then it won't mess you up when you re-'equip' the build again.
I'm running 5 different builds on my DH and sharing gems between them and the other classes of characters I run (doing 'years of war' conquest).
As long as you are keeping the armory profiles up to date (save it when you change, reroll, or augment gear) your gear will be there.
The bugs with the gems getting kicked out of jewelry/weapons seem to be getting fixed one by one and are happening (to me) much less frequently.
And as far as showing someone a specific build, would agree to refer them to a build here or on d3planner, etc. They can see whatever your top build on the leaderboard is and your current equipped build and that's about it. GL.
Another armory question. Is it possible to solve annoying remove gems on switching sets ?? I've made 2 different gem sets for each chest/pants ,but switching between sets is still putting gems in my inventory

Like Bagstone wrote. Create a Default/Resting/Empty set-up in the number 5 slot and switch to it at the end of each session. Quickly dump the shared items (Gems) back into your stash and log out. I use a set I'm not playing like Natalya for DH or Firebird for Wiz with no jewelry, rings, or Gems.

I believe it is 5 armory slots for EACH of yours characters.

People managed fine without armory aswell not so long ago.
When 5 is not enough allready, it is kinda a problem you create for yourself.
And if you actually play alot, those characters would have had their own gems leveled, and no issue present with gem swapping between them.
I have question about Armory too
I play WD
Armory Slot For Rift (Gargan)
Armory Slot For Grift (F.Bat)
Armory Slot For Solo Grift (Gargan with S.harvest)
its not a problem for now
But my friends ask a questin about my skill or my build (exp:F.bat 4 man grift build)
I say look at my build
But in the meantime I play other set (Rift Gargan)
And my friends can not see my FB WD
Sorry my ENG
I hope I explain this
