I think that 4 people in a game is really bad... I liked how there was more people able to join a game in d2 and I noticed that Blizzard actually listens to their fans (if enough complain).
I would like to ask everyone with a Blizzard account that can post on the offical forums:
Will Blizzard change the current 4 people per game to 8 and if that's not possible at least 6 would be fine. I don't want to neglect any friends I have because I can only play with 3 other people.
I think 4 is enough too. I remember in D2, we would never see all the players in the same map because of the cluster fuck.
4 is a good number as its create small group that needs everyone, especially in Inferno.
Not too many effects on the screen rendering game visibility ugly.
While it would be fun to be able to play with more, I doubt Blizzard would change it at this point.
They have balanced the spell animations based around 4 people so you don't get "lost" in the spectacle of it all.
In D2, unless you already had 7 friends to play with, 8 player games were very very uncommon, especially in random games. If you did play in 8 player games, most of the time, people will go off on their own little groups anyway.
at first...i didnt like 4 being the maximum number. but after talking about it to several people and thinking it over...4 really is perfect. does it mean you have to choose who to play with? yes. having 8 ppl in the game its likely that someone will get behind and everyone has to wait for them to catch up. then someone else gets behind and they have to wait again...with 4 its really easy for everyone to stay together thus making the game really fun for everyone all the time.
I do think the option should exist even just in private mode, or heck even just offline, but since there is no offline and since they don't care that much, you can't, you won't, and saying it won't do squat.
Thinking that they listen to the fans and will just follow the people's will is wrong. Its funny, its like, they say that one time for one thing and suddenly everybody feels listened to.
News flash: If they don't agree, no amount of people whining about it will change it.
They should make it 5 people, 1 for each class and I have 4 (plus myself) so we wouldnt all be able to play together, and hey at least give us the choice, you dont need to make it JUST 5 and NOTHING ELSE if you want to have 8 people you can set it to 8 or have 4 all up to you.

Yeah, that makes sense when you base it off the current game. But what about when they add expansions and more classes, 5 won't be enough for all the classes, only for the original classes. So yeah, 4 is enough i'd say. =)

I won't do your thing.

I think 4 will work best.

Though I do think 5 players make sense, one for each class, as others have stated.
Exactly!

especially with the new spell effects and pretty lights
