so after investigating the sweepstakes i see no reason why i couldn't just make 100 valid random e-mail addresses and enter them all under diff names to have a greater chance at winning? since you don't need a FB account, just a valid e-mail. which you KNOW thousands and thousands of people are re-entering the contest over and over, therefor making it 100x less likely that a person opting in once will get a key. whats the point of having a scamable sweepstakes?
I DIN'T GET KEY QQ QQ QQ QQ ;[ ;[ ;[ ;[ :< :< :< :<
You didn't win, get over it.
lol considering the beta is 1/3rd of the first act which I've seen 100 video's of. i really don't care, but a lot of people do. therefor I'm wondering why its an easily scamable contest mr. troll

He has a very valid point, its not a valid method to run a sweepstake.
But it is a great PR stunt, blizz does not actually care about who wins or by what means.

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
There's definitely nothing stopping someone from making 100 email addresses and entering them all. I don't think Blizzard really cares that much, honestly, because the prize is worthless and they're just trying to get people on the servers.
Ehh if someone is willing to go through the effort of making hundreds of email addresses and going through each one to check for invites then more power to them. There's still the possibility that Blizzard has an IP tracker in the system.

Every beginning programmer can write a script to create countless mails and check them once a week in an hour.
Any beginner web developer can write a script to blacklist, or ignore duplicate IP addresses in the database and apply it to the submission form.
I'm glad I'm over the beta obsession, because really it isn't all that.
I'm just hoping the actual game doesn't hit later than april 2012.
Basically this. I have no doubt the game will knock my socks off and be well worth the decade+ wait (has it really been that long? esssh. lol) but the beta only would serve to make the start of the game dull and played to death before I even bought the final game. The first night live streams were up I was laughing at how cool everything was but now I don't even bother watching stuff on it because I've seen that small section so much and would rather keep it as fresh as possible at this point
You guys seem to forget that the Opt-in process is still ongoing and this sweepstakes promo is just additional keys being sent out(just more frequently and that we know about)
Honestly I'd love to try the game but If I get it my Bf3 GoW3 and Mw3 and ME3 are all wastes of money cause I'd only play d3.... (this is the year of the 3's?...)

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
also, in these contests, they usually let you submit more than once (with new emails) but it also logs your ip, if they see a bunch from a single ip, they just wont count any of them. Granted people can use a proxy, but most dont go that far, so dont worry about people doing loads of emails, wont help them.

Yep,
I actually tried it. The sweepstakes wouldn't let a person enter twice on the same IP.

The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t...

If your desperate enough to create and apply with 100 emails, getting enough proxies isn't really that much extra work thou. It certainly helps with the "small time hustlers" thou
Sadly you can't do much about these ways of cheating...
