Q: From what ive heard, if you use a different ability while you have frenzy stacks..it resets your stacks. So using abilities like Revenge and Overpower with Frenzy can be counterproductive.
A: This is not the case. I just tested it with Cleave and Hammer. My frenzy stacks were only ever removed when the duration was up.
Q: I cannot for the life of me find the mechanics behind DoT stacking, more specifically if several instances of the same DoT spell can be active on the same target. Take for example the Haunt spell, which can have three instances out simultaneously. Can all three Haunts coexist the same mob?
A: The Skeleton King was unable to be affected by more than 1 instance of my haunt, so you cannot stack all your allowances on the same enemy.
Q: Before it completly changed, how much damage deal Fan of Knives at higher level (13 if you have a DH of that level) ? (also the difference between the damage with or without equipements ... i guess +attack works but what about a +2/4 damage ring ?)
A: +X-Y damage only affects weapon damage. On that note, as it does not currently boost FoK, it will with the weapon damage skill change. Which, in regards to your first question, I will not be testing as it is a thing of the past.
Q: Is it possible to buff yourself with a Monk mantra or Barb shout and then switch the mantra/shout for another skill and still keep the buff?
And a similar question about the WD's summons; Can you summon the dogs and then switch that skill for another, and still keep your dogs until they die? Or are they removed when the skill is?
A: All benefits from a skill are removed when you swap out that skill. This has been tested with Mantras, Wizard Armors, and Zombie Dogs and can be assumed across the board.
Q: what happens to the cooldown of skills that are not currently in an active slot ? Is the CD reset to full or zero ? Does the skill remember the CD it had before ?
And also about the revenge skill for the Barbarian : is it activated automaticaly or do you gain the possibility of activiting it when the situation occurs ?
A: All skills continue to cooldown when you swap them out. So, swapping has no effect. Revenge is greyed out until it triggers at which point it lights up and allows you to use it. It has about a 5-10 second window before it deactivates automatically.
Q:
1. Are dots able to crit?
2. How much precision, crit% and critdmg does a nude lvl 1 and a nude lvl 13 DH have?
3. Skills that state in their description that they hit "nearby" enemies, is that app. 10 yard?
4. (I can't watch streams) You can have 6 skills in your bar, what happens when you press the button, does it fire at the position of your mouse cursor? Or does it put it on for example RMB and you still need to click like in d2?
A:
1) no
2) stats will be uploaded to http://s273.photobucket.com/albums/jj227/soulzek/diablo 3/stats/demon hunter/ over time
3) I really don't know how to test this
4) when you press the number on your keyboard, it fires at your mouse position. If you click the icon on your hotbar, it brings up a radial ground cursor (like AoE spells in WoW) that will fire wherever you click on the ground.
Q: What are the second-tier choices for the Templar follower? I saw a lvl13 follower in a stream with the second set of spell choices but I didn't see what they were. Follower spells are not published on the battlenet site yet.
The first tier ones appear to be a heal or a taunt.
Q:
1.) Take note of Base Stats, AND Details of character sheet of a "Naked" character. Taking care that no Stat buffs are on to adversely effect the base stats.
2.) Take note of Base Stat changes, and Details changes, again with no armor on or Stat buffs AT EACH Level. 1-10 be good, but up to 13 be AWESOME!
Q: Can I disband pet at will from the general interface ? Same goes with follower. (Though I guess disbanding follower is only in the follower screen)
How many and what kind of slot the templar can have ? A: You can right click on your minions portraits in the top left and select dismiss. This gets rid of the hireling, and for the zombie dogs, 1 at a time. The Templar can equip a 1-handed Spear, Shield, 2 rings, and 1 amulet.
Q: I was wondering about pet scaling. Last time someone did testing (before the whole all skills scale with weapon damage change) it was discovered that Attack increased the Zombie Dogs damage, but they didn't try out to see if there were any other stats that scaled like HP, Def, etc. While it's safe to assume that they still scale with attack/weapon damage do any other stats effect pets, or does higher attack effect more than just pet damage?
A: Zombie Dogs' health did not change when my WD's Vitality was increased, so they appear to not scale in that regard. Attack affects all damage done by the character, so it also boosts the witch doctor's damaging skills.
Q: Do Attack (+% Damage) and weapon damage scaled abilites scale multiplicatively or additively?
An example: 150% ability weapon damage with 100 Attack (+100% damage) should do either 300% or 200% damage, respectively.
A: Bash (1.45) and 67 Attack (1.67) scaled a 6-7 damage weapon up to 15-17 damage dealt. This is multiplicative (which yields higher results than additive). On a side note, +X-Y damage affixes boost your weapon damage, not your final damage.
Q: Are the monk spirit generators interchangeable (as was the intention way back when), i.e. if you hit twice with Deadly Reach and follow with Fists of Thunder, will the last hit be the "third" Fists of Thunder hit that does the bubble and hits all enemies in front?
A: You can interchange all spirit generator moves any time you want. There are 3 stages of spirit generation attacking and any skill can be used at any time for each step. Using a spirit spender skill at any time resets the stage back to 1.
Wizard Q: Does the "Glass Cannon" passive work multiplicative (with weapon damage and attack). Q: Does the "Magic Weapon" work multiplicative with Weapon ED%?
Barbarian Q: Does "Ignore Pain" work multiplicative with Armor? Defense?
Witchdoctor Q: Does the "Vermin" passive work multiplicative with attack?
Q: Mighty Blow (N monsters killed with one strike). What are the values?
Looking for values of lower levels (to confirm my formula.)
Not needed: Level 13
Needed: Level 1-12
Known: Level 7 (7,10,13,18,20,24), Level 8 (6,7,8,9)
A: All calculations are multiplicative. This is good for increase (higher results than add), and bad for decrease (lower than add because it's under 1.0). This also means it is much, much harder to get 100% damage reduction, which makes sense and is what Blizzard wants.
Q : what happens to the cooldown of skills that are not currently in an active slot ? Is the CD reset to full or zero ? Does the skill remember the CD it had before ?
Nothing changes except your abilities to use it at all.
So, if you use a 15 sec cooldown skill, switch to another skill and come back to this one 10 second later, there will be 5 seconds left.
Q: What are the second-tier choices for the Templar follower? I saw a lvl13 follower in a stream with the second set of spell choices but I didn't see what they were. Follower spells are not published on the battlenet site yet.

I am sorry that some tests will take longer than others. I currently have only a level 13 of the barb and wizard. I will need more time if your question involves a class at a high level, but I will get to them ASAP.
First off, thank you for this service. Your doing everything I would do if i'd have Beta access. If I get a key, I wouldn't mind helping you out too.
So off to my question:
My question is more of a task. In my thread here "Building a Better Skill Calculator" I want to find out as much as I can pertaining, and including the the Base Stats and how they effect things such as +Crit, +Crit DMG, +DMG, etc. So the task (which I'd admit it is) is this:
1.) Take note of Base Stats, AND Details of character sheet of a "Naked" character. Taking care that no Stat buffs are on to adversely effect the base stats.
2.) Take note of Base Stat changes, and Details changes, again with no armor on or Stat buffs AT EACH Level. 1-10 be good, but up to 13 be AWESOME!
Now here's the good news, I watched Force's playthroughs and did take note of the Base Stat increase from levels 2-8 (2-7 on his Wizard). I have included a picture of my Excel chart. If you want you can just confirm what I have and list for levels I don't.
(my excel shart)
Also, instead of paper or note padding the changes, a good screenshot of the character stat page with all the Details opened be good enough. (Just take care to scroll down for the full Adventure details.) A simple WINZIP file of all the pictures be cool, and can give email to avoid having to find a free file sharing (less stuff on your end).
Lastly, I can actually answer one of your questions for you after you do this,
Since I'll have the base state changes, I can work out the amount of %CRIT per Amount of Precision. It has been noted that it appears to be taking a diminishing returns, (think WOW at higher levels). Diminishing Returns is a huge reason for this, as it appears to be in about half the mechanics so far looked at.
Thank you for help, with as much as you do! get many +Rep for just doing this!!!
Awesome thread about mechanics, got my own question:
Can I disband pet at will from the general interface ? Same goes with follower. (Though I guess disbanding follower is only in the follower screen)
How many and what kind of slot the templar can have ? (aside from the special slot) I haven't seen any stream/video open that up long enough to actually see it

On a side note. If you use a spirit spender, the charge-ups are reset. This means you can use: Generator(1) Generator(2), Spender, Generator(3). It will be Generator(1) Generator(2), Spender, Generator(1) instead.

Thanks for the quick answer, though it seems like I poorly worded my question ^^;;
To clarify: What OTHER stats do pets have (like HP, Def, Precision) that scale with player stats? We've seen testing that shows more attack = more pet damage but none testing if, say, more def = less damage taken by pets or more vit = more pet hp, or even if more attack = more of either of those.

Thanks again and sorry for the confusion ^^;;
I'm not really sure that I can test that. Every monster in the beta is too weak to inflict any major damage on my minions and I cannot see their numerical health. There's also not enough +vit on gear to make a significant benchmark to test how fast they die against leoric.
I have your answer, it has been updated in the original post.
