To me, the smartest thing to do would to wait for the end of beta. End of beta must mean game mechanics are sorted out or are very close to being so. I remember Bashiok saying in a quote somewhere that release will most likely be a couple months or so.

yay if its before mid may, i can get a solid month out and then slow down to a few hours a week, but if its afer mid may - june then wont be able to play it till at least march 2013 cos of IRL stuff going on
and alot of people are the same, exams, migrating, babies, invasions etc
also people can only afford one game or allowed the money for one game (if under the ager of 16) so getting MoP and D3 would not happen

About speculation look this art. Right below. does it says 27 june or 27 april. I am a little tired so maybe i am just seeing numbers. Maybe its just a name.
Ha i see K 27 2012... K is on the #5 on a phone, may is the 5th month. May 27th 2012 it is... Punkass Jay Wilson said the game would be released about 6 months after beta. Mid sept-Mid March would be 6 months since that clearly not happening how far off was this ego maniac was? My gues above would indicate about 8 1/2 from release of the beta.

I was really hoping it would be released sooner than later, but then I realized something. I graduate from college in May, so if it was released before then it would probably just add to senioritis, and engineering courses and homework take up enough of my time as it is, so I wouldn't be able to give it the time it deserves.
My guess (and my hope) is that it will be released in June... hopefully on my birthday (June 23). That would be the best birthday ever! Drinking and playin Diablo 3 with my buds!
I'm betting on june too. There´s no reason to say they´re aiming for a Q2 launch and do it on it's beginning - april. In my opinon all these new tweets about more beta keys or Inferno difficulty are just for re-hype those who stopped playing the beta long time ago so Blizz can do more tests on the AH and overall stability. Also, why would they relase more keys if they plan to give us the game so soon? Predicting blizzard is like predicting an earthquake. Not sure if that pun was intended, but it was certainly amusing. Scrying what I can from the few tea leaves Blizz has given us, it seems like May/June release fits within their timeline of the lag between release announcement and the actual date they drop it.
Really hoping for April, but if Blizz sticks to it's 8 week release date, its starting to look maybe May and I hope not June. But with the patches rolling out pretty quick and the beta contests along with the 100k invites it, we could be getting a release date "soon" Just wanting this game to release already, Beta will make me want this game even more....
I would love a "worst case scenario" release date. It would be the date that if everything they are working on took longer than expected, then ran into more problems than expected, and hit a bunch of unexpected crap. If they said December 21, 2012 I think everyone would rest easy that it would come before then or it wouldn't matter.
But there has to be a point where Blizzard says "OK, we've worked long enough on this game now, the testing is going well and we do have to get this into the hands of our eager diablo fans." I mean, am i grasping at straws here? they can't keep delaying it forever and polishing. there has to be the point where its shiny enough... heh.
I think mid-May to mid-June is a realistic timeframe for D3's release. They still stick to their "early 2012" release window, so anything before mid (6th month, or June) 2012 is fair game. They even solidified the release with Q2 2012, so that doubly confirms that we can eect it no later than mid to late June... Unless it gets delayed again...
I think it will be in May. They are releasing the patch 13 within the next week which seems to be the last big push before solidifying a release date. I can't wait for this game. Everyone is so worked up because they are anxious. This is going to be the best Blizz release to date.
the release date will be 12/06/2032.Blizzard wants everybody to have like 35 diablo II characters and 45 wow characters before they launch D3.I hope i dont die of age before it ¬¬.
If they barely didn't make Q1, it should be coming in April.
