I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.
So if you found a reference to The Lost Vikings in D1,D2, or D3 you would bitch and complain about that also? Well Blizzard is known throughout all their games to have some sort of reference from their other games in their games. Get over yourself.
I personally find it pretty cool when I see those small references to all their other games. Reminds me of playing and enjoying those games back in the day.

Courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the presence of fear yet the will to go on.
My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.
Wow has vanity pets that are from Diablo and StarCraft. You can have a Diablo pet, Tyreal Pet, or a zergling. It's not a big deal, just cause you dont like a game doesnt mean a reference is horrible. It's not like King Leoric will become King Wrynn.

You have to understand, Mr Aim, it's not hip and cool to hate on The Lost Vikings. It is hip and cool to hate on WoW.
It's Blizzard's game, if they want to sneak a couple WoW allusions in, who cares, truly?
99.9999% of D3 is free from any legitimate WoW influence, and I'll argue with anyone who says there's even a .1% influence aesthetically / thematically. Is anyone really troubled by this? There was an era when this kind of paranoia / anger was fair (because we were worried, we had little information, we didn't know what to expect) but it's well over. This dead horse has dust for bones.

Are you trying to compare fanboys being mad to the cold war.

Hence the "omg, i hatez teh wowz!" threads.
I'm not a hater so I guess I wasn't hip to the official hate wow news letter. Thx for the heads up Mr.X!

Looks like I'll be able to buy it for 85$ and finally be cool.

"When men are most sure and arrogant, they are commonly the most mistaken, and have then given views to passion, without that proper deliberation and suspense which can alone secure them from the grossest absurdities"
Thing is, the WoW world doesn't take itself nearly as serious as Sanctuary. I mean, at xmas time you have gnomes wearing santa hats and crap like that. In the WoW universe, goof-ball jokes and tongue-in-cheek references fit right in.
However, in the Diablo world, things are dead serious. There just isn't any jacking around, there isn't anything that's funny, with no running jokes. The only exception is the cow level. I LIKE that sanctuary is serious, creepy, scary, filled with horror, death and mutilation, pain, suffering.. it's more engaging as a world of itself, and it feels better in-game.
I always love it when I forget I'm playing a game, and when I finally stop playing you get the sense of "snapping out" of an entire world. Oddly enough, WoW never gave me that same feeling, since it so seemlessly integrates with RL. Diablo, on the other hand, has an atmosphere more like the first Resident Evil..
So, in my opinion, references to murlocs and crap like that has no place in Diablo. Yeah, it's Blizzard's game, they can do what they want. Doesn't mean I have to like it. And they don't pay for the game. I do.

There's thunderfury but it doesn't have the same design and you actually don't need to make a new thread for this. You couldve just posted here: http://www.diablofan...s-only-natural/
Each Legendary that doesn't have a "special" image at the moment, is using a placeholder.
I found one already , there is a legendary amulet called The murlocket , and the picture is a murlock ish face .
Whats next?
Id rather be a fanboi than a hater .

There is a saying in the MMO's I no longer play. It goes something like, no wonder so many people can't compete for employment.
This is amazing.

This is especially true for most set pieces.
Confirmed by Bashiok.
So add "artwork" to the list of things D3 devs still have to finish. Sweet.
