At my point of view it isint that bad. At least we get that awesome class what most of us wanted and what would we do whit new act? Most of us dont play story mode anyway... all other changes they can just add whit patch, like pvp? Anyway... i will buy that pack and see how cool Necro is in D3.
it's not an expansion, rather it's the same as when they added Crusader and new areas in existing Acts.
I know... my point was we dont need expantion just for new act and act boss cos ppl wount play story mode anyway. New class is enought if they keep adding new stuff via patches!?
The worst part is that necro comes in 2nd half of 2017. That's super late. I think it was said that work on necro started early this year. that's over a year of work for one class. That's way too long and time is the biggest problem with Diablo 3 since the beginning. Everything took way too long starting with its announcement (too long after d2), it's release (too long in development), etc.
D3 is the story of endless waiting.
I'm hoping by 2nd half of 2017 that they mean early July for start of season 11. Also hoping that the price point they put on it is not too ridiculous.
When are people going to understand that leaderboard competition is a form of PVP.
I know you want face to face destruction, but it requires a lot of system changes that to me, simply are not worth the resources. Mainly because an ARPG would function a lot like a MOBA, without a wave of monsters and a base, so what is the point then? Just go play the MOBA?
They need to add more game modes and unique features that offer ways for all of us to compete. Challenge Rifts are very likely NOT THE LAST of these features to be added.

If you watched some of the Blizzcon content, they talked about how D3 release and SC2 release were GREATLY affected by WoW as they had to pull every member of the staff to help because they did not expect WoW to be the massive hit that it became over night.
It was also mentioned that Legion required them to also pull resources from other games to get it where they wanted.
The fact is that WoW is the Cash Cow and the Star of Blizzard. They will always focus on that, and when time allows itself, give us content in the other areas. Developing a full functioning well balanced class in any game is not easy. They were working on the Demon Hunter in WoW for 6 years! So even if you assume January was the start date, I would rather they give us a kick ass class than rush it.
And why do people think that no content is coming out between now and the Necro release pack?
