I was wondering if there was going to be "resource steal" of any kind. Life steal would be easy to do since all characters will have hp but resources being different per class would make it complicated. Also, the dh has 2 resource types so would resource steal take part of each pool or just 1?
Lifesteal is a key part of Diablo... how can you say it should not be in the game?! Hello, how else do you expect a melee character to maintain good standing while mobs who are supposed to nearly 1shot casters truck them...?
Old news. You get runes that modify your character's skills if you want the effect.

I say life steal percent on items. It made the game to easy especially before LoD came out.
I would love to see the other methods to gain life be more important.
There are methods such as defense now that will absorb damage. There is also dodge and blocking attacks. Quite a few of the skills have some nice life regeneration effects. To me adding life steal % would be overkill since I do expect that character damage is going to be higher than it was in D2 since we will have a fourth difficulty.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
Life Steal % is in and is represented in your character screen.
Resource steal isn't in per se, but there are plenty of affixes and skills that generate resources on swing, cast, hit, etc.
I was wondering more about a monster stealig our resource(s) then our characters stealing it from monsters. If monsters don't steal resources then that would be great. Although, I bet monsters will have some kind of resource attacks since we will have them.

I actually really enjoyed the Mana Steal monsters from Diablo 2. The first time I met them I was like "Gotcha! Fireball!!!", then I was " wtf is going on?", then "oh crap 0 mana, stupid Mana Steal"!!!

But the mechanic was really fun, tempering with the one thing that was making sure I was overpowering everything made for some pretty interesting encounters
I have another question that is (somewhat) related to that topic: What's about items dropped by monsters? Who get's them? Is it like in D2, i e does the player who clicks first get them or is there a new system?
This is quite off-topic, but I'll answer before someone gets mad at you.
No, drops are individual. Only you can see your own drops, you don't have to compete with anyone.
If you need further info on this matter (or any other tbh), I suggest looking for it in the forums, it's loaded with informative threads.
Having a blanket "resource steal" monster similar to the mana steal monsters of D2 seems like it wouldn't work well. The resources are all gained in different ways. Stealing arcane power would be nearly worthless because of it's high regen rate, but could be crippling to a witch doctor. Since the resource systems are completely independant of one another, and how we regain the resource is dependant on in game mechanics and select skill choices I doubt we'll see it on any monster.
As for the player having it, a lot of rune effects or passives involve resource managment. I kinda like the direction they're going with it
