It isn't just this site. There are no posts on the official forums of anyone getting in. When the SC2 beta came out there were tons of posts about it. There has literally not been one credible post since the announcement was made, and the press all got in a few hours before the announcement. Very weird day, huge c*cktease lol.
Indeed, huge teaser from blizzard. Very weird for them to do something like this. To only see media get in before the public instead of with the public was not what i was expecting.

Went outside today, the graphics were ok. But the gameplay sucked
Ya and said they've begun the process of inviting and no one got invited after they said that. Overall a big tease of a day, I feel like I have mental blue balls.
They didn't actually state that beta invites have been released. So far they have openly admitted that the beta has started (which it has with media). And that they aren't allowed to openly say when beta invites have or haven't gone out (which contradicts bash). So as far as we know from what Zarhym said we will only see invites during buisness hours (which I think isn't true).

#D3 beta invites are going out to the public. And there was much rejoicing. (Chiggity-check yourself, I have no control over who's picked.)

He did say typically (which he made a point of typing that word) meaning he knows they have, and might need to, come out outside of normal hours.
uggg Im honestly surprised press got in so far ahead of the rest of us, first time for everything I guess.
Press got in the public didn't they want to make sure "press"(who cares about them BTW) get a chance to play before the flood gates open and really cause server problems seems like they can barely handle 60+.
in blizzards mind press = start of closed beta
wed - Fri we will see opt in get in the beta and that what matters because that the core of blizzard fan base
it's easy to see no one got in on the consumer side we would know the forums would blow up like SC2 and other betas from other games only confused people blew up the forums today because nothing happend.
That is not a blue post, so you can't say its true. I already saw this on the forums.
BUt that is a blue... its Z,
but regardless by public I think he means the media. (yeah I know typically media != public but in this case meaning the "public" closed beta.)\
@at the post above me: but thats not how blizzard rolls, or at least it never has been in the past, its always been same time, or heck a few times we got in before press.
"You're over-complicating what the announcement means. By announcing that the beta is live, it means that from this day forward, people beyond Blizzard employees and their friends/family will start receiving invites to test the game. We made all of the necessary updates we needed to over the last couple of days in order to ensure we could start the beta process. Once we verified everything was good to go, we made the announcement and now consider this public beta. But it doesn't mean a huge chunk of the public was guaranteed to get in on day one.
A distinction had to be made between the F&F testing that's been going on, and the actual opening of the beta to the public. That's what happened today, even if we didn't invite tens of thousands of people in one go -- which, given the demand, would still seem like a very small number of people to everyone else not invited."
So..... anyone else feelin a bit lied to as well? or am i being dramatic?

Yea that's pretty lame. Announce something like that then 10 hours later mention that that didn't necessarily mean anyone would be invited today.
I'll add something positive though, hopefully this means that we might be seeing a steady flow of people getting into the beta starting tomorrow, and continuing through the week.
I knew they'd somehow figure out a way to delay to September 30th, 11:59:59 PM.

set hope $beta
while { $hope > 0 } {
set invited (get_input beta_inv_stat)
if { $invited == nope } {
set hope ($hope - 1)
print "OMFG not invited yet. Going to CRY ($beta - $hope) tears."
} elseif { $invited == YES } {
print "OMFG INVITED!!!! Going to JIZZ ($beta + $hope) gallons of PURE JIZZ!!!!!!"
break
}
}

However, they could have just been smart enough to say that in the first place, as they know thats what we care about
