couldn't help but notice characters don't seem to die much, or lose much health at that. maybe i haven't watched enough gameplay, so i was wondering on your thoughts?
ive seen a few close calls from some streams, but no deaths yet... then again, the monk i watched from lvl 1 up had some gear in the stash that his barb found the first time through... so he was better geared than he normally would be for his level...
even so, he got close to death a few times... definitely gotta be weary about how many zombies you throw yourself in the middle of

Think of the difficulties in Diablo 3 like the ones in Starcraft 2.
Normal = Casual
So easy a well-trained chimp beat it.
Nightmare = Normal
You might die occasionally but usually are fine if you know how your skills work and have an okay build.
Hell = Hard
You'll probably die on all the bosses and some of the champions/super-uniques. Regular monsters won't be that deadly, just time consuming to kill until you get good gear.
Inferno = Brutal
You will die a lot even with good gear. Expect to spend months gearing your character before you can solo it. Most people will want groups for this.
Yes, Diablo 3 is overall easier than Diablo 2 until you get to Inferno. That's just the way games are these days. However, I expect Inferno to be like a brick wall that will take all but the most hardcore many months to beat (solo that is). Inferno is the endgame. If the average player can get through it in a month or two, people will quit the game fast and Blizzard has made it too easy.
The red around the screen is really annoying. Is this only when a player's health gets below a certain percentage? Do we have any idea if there is a way to maybe deactivate this?
(I don't have the beta personally - yet) The red glow does appear when you get low on health. I have no idea if you can turn it off or not. Haven't found an option in the game menu off the client but the tooltip menu is blacked out...so idk.
Its aall about hell-inferno
