It's funny seeing how many complain about how a beta version (a non complete game) looks and accepts that its the final product.
The shield thing.. meh I have better things to do than look at my character screen, maybe playing the game perhaps. I'd also expect a lvl 1 shield to look lame.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
I'm very disappointed by the leaked stuff so far. Graphics settings seem very low because you can see every pixel and a lot of things seem quite unfinished...the selection screen has nothing on the D2 screen (which is an 11 years old game!!!!). At the last picture the barbarian isn't even holding the damn shield in his hand, it's just stuck to his arm... I really hope this is just really old footage and stuff because I am not impressed at all.
See how these warriors are holding their shield?
I'm not a fan of jaggies, either. Don't care if the graphics is so so in game as long as anti-aliasing is an option. There a thread that unofficially confirmed that there's a FSAA support for D3 so don't worry about it much. And well the game is indeed unfinished, that's why blizzard is still saying "soon" for beta and "when it's ready" for the final product don't they. Let's just all wait for the beta and all of our questions and doubts will be answered.

I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.
Not sure, was pretty stupid of him to post it to begin with, don't know if he was also stupid enough to think he would still have a future inside the gaming industry after today, could also be Blizzard telling him to delete everything before they call out the lawyers.
I have to wonder... is someone stupid enough to leak a video and some pictures of Blizzard's beta as a result of his firing, knowing they would easily track him down, thus hurting his reputation within the gaming industry ?
That person would have to be really really dumb.
So, if the F&F has not started yet and it's not from an ex-employee... Where does it come from ?
Or it's Blizzard's marketing with some viral stuff. It doesn't really announce or spoil anything, it's just the character selection screen along with a bunch of surprisingly marketish type screenshots....

That is kind of late don't you think ? The info is all around the internet and Blizzard even confirmed the screenshots.
Is it just me or the Character selection screen looks cheap

How much time are you going to spend staring at the character selection screen? I'm guessing not too much.

SC2 beta had the same oddities about the UI. It'll all get updated over beta, but isn't as important as the meat of the gameplay. The splash screen for SC2 used to be kind of disappointing, and was really low res and crappy looking even on the highest settings, but once the game launched it had an updated splash and all updated UI. I wouldn't get too hung up on it personally.
I wouldn't worry about the graphics shown in the videos and pics so far, they are never really corresponding to the real game's graphics.
Let's just see how the game turns out, Blizzard won't change any major things in the game by now since we're so close to the release (December/January).
Blizzard is just following their new business model, if you can't beat em join em, as they did with the RMAH now they are leaking info because "its going to happen anyway"
I had been willing to put money down that character creation would include some skin/hair variations, because it would be easy with Blizzard's ridiculous resources and the incredibly lightweight graphics and why not. Glad that I didn't.

They already said that this wasn't nice for Diablo because of the distance between the character and the screen. You wouldn't really notice any difference, so it woulb be more a hassle than something to make the game better.

Im always in support of more customization and option with character creation, but damn, ive never seen one of those character creation screens that got super detailed, that actually allowed me to make a character look quite right

If it's like the SCII beta, a couple weeks, and then the flood gates open for everyone else.

Actually, it's the Brazil's independence day.
It will be a holiday here, so if it comes out and I get invited, I get to play a lot more than you guys.
But I still think it will be the last two weeks.

Hmmm.......
No they wouldn't.
It's better than D2, at least its a start
