So my 9 year old is starting 4th grade this year. He is also going to start managing his own blog. I watch him play like Quake Live and he beats a good portion of the people he plays. Maybe he'll be the next Fatality and make daddy some dollas.

I find it pretty amusing that he's blogging about a game that he plans on playing, once it's released, which has been in development since before he was born.

Playing a Wizard. Looking for Demon Hunters to play with.
Ha, cool. Glad you and your son can enjoy the game together. Just ensure he's not like these other kids of today (my little cousins, as an example - they don't see the light of day. No more soccer or playing outside, its all about Call of Duty and talking over their headsets, and frankly they're missing their childhoods!). After he's done slaying Diablo, drive him to football practice!
rofl very cute. I'm sure you and your son will have lots of fun. I'm sure i will spend quality time with my kids gaming too. this game will certainly leave an impression on him, Diablo had the same effect on me when I was 9. :-O
Wish i could've played games with my dad instead he grounded me for playing during weekdays and then stashed them in his room somewhere. Asshole. Gratz to you and your son though I hope he enjoys this game as much as we all will.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Stop whining. My dad beat me with a barbwire wrapped baseball bat.
But seriously, I would've loved being able to share playing games with my dad when I was little.
For my future offsprings sake, I hope they like games. 'Cos they will be playing, if they like it or not!
I got beat with a clotheshanger(plastic, not metal or wood) legitimatley once. But thats all behind me and I'm better because of it. I'd rather be tougher and hardened than a whiny bitch and I agree with you totally If I get kids, they'll be playing games with me at all possible times.

I don't shelter him from anything. We listen to the same music. Watch the same movies. He went with me to watch Jackass 3 when he was eight.
He really is much more mature than other kids his age... who are still running around in fairy land talking about garfield, stickers and crayons. Parents these days really shelter their kids.
Don't think I'm a carefree and careLESS parent though. No games or tv until homework is done and 100% correct. Chores must be done. He eats his vegetables and he plays in a basketball league.
Surprisingly my wife doesn't like video games... but she also doesn't get mad that we play.

In my honest opinion letting a 9 year old play diablo IS careless parenting. There is a reason children at age 8/9 as you stated discuss garfield, and hannah montana, stickers, and crayons. They are exactly that... CHILDREN.
Do you really understand the reason why parents are expected to shelter their children? Have you ever even taken a developmental pyschology class? I'm assuming you haven't.
Children are maleable, their minds are sponges and they pick up on everything they see and do. The things you show and introduce your child to is what develops their personality/ psyche for life. If you let your son watch movies involving rape and murder you LITERALLY are desensitizing him, it develops in his subconcious as a part of life, as a normality. Yes, Diablo 3 is about splattering demons, and killing fake monsters... but you are introducing him to content that was deemed mature for a fucking reason.
I will never let my daughter play an M-Rated game until she is at least 15... at least at the point their subconcious/ personality is developed enough to handle it.
Anyway this is what he wrote - http://ericlovin.com/i-am-excited-about-diablo-3/

For starting your son on the right track. Just think, when he was born, we were starting to craft the first runewords in D2:LoD!
He will probably be a better Demon Hunter than i will be.
