who cares legendary items bro , after releasing 2.2. now everything turning around ancients. if an item is not ancient it is simply means crap.
thing that a legendary item chance of being an anciet is %10.so how many times can you see an ancient furnace ancent kridershot or ancient madstone like that. i mean there is lots of items still drop chance is under %2 !!! if you look this perpective the drop rates is fine may be low.
(my tought is,2 worst thing appears from the the beginning 1-ancient items 2-skill damage on item)
and this too. The amount of "gimped shit" aka non-ancient is like 99,9%
And drop rates actually affected power creep directly. The faster you get desired gear with higher stats = the more damage you do, kill faster.. etc.. more damage..---> you "exhaust" the game limits "faster". Now imagine this is for everyone. Of cause players started to drain the boundaries of the game with silly speed.

Sry to disappoint you. The blizz people already know all that.
Fixing the game for the most dedicated players and the streamers is supereasy. Players are watching streams because they care about the game. If the game is changed in a way that it works awesome for streamers, fulltime-players and other very dedicated people, but not for the average player, why should the average player watch streams about that game, a game that has nothing to offer for his kind.
Diablo 3 is a supermainstream ARPG. It needs to be. Without the mainstream, no public interest.
Yes, you can be top#1 in the leaderboards and complain that gearing is too fast. You can also play a game where gearing takes 1500 hours and after 1200 hours you get your item and youre superproud and superhappy and its the best day of your life, but the game takes too much time for most players, so youre top#1 in a game that no one cares about.
There can't be an "elite" without the majority.
Finally someone who understands
There are so many right now who feels that the more casual player base is not worthy of the game or something. They just don't realize the game would not have survived without this group who make up the majority.

"Hope... Do not look down, my friend. Even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. Hope for a better day, hope for a new dawn. Or just hope for a good breakfast. You start small, then see what you can get."
Now, I found D3 much better than D2, and, even if "hardcore" players (not the ones playing hardcore mode, I mean those playing 16Hrs a day, botting or not when asleep) are not happy with the drop rates, I do not care. I can only play 2 to 4Hrs per day, so, as it goes, I can equip all my characters, enjoy testing builds and have a good time.
I'm having fun with D3, that's all I ask from a game. Just waiting for dishonored 2 now.
I agree. The ability to be able to play at a rate comfortable for people's lifestyles is good. I certainly can't play for 8hrs a day but I really enjoy playing it when I do. The drop rates now allow me to be able to equip enough characters and test out builds and have a bit of fun, as darko75 said. I don't play much in high end GRift realm but I'm assuming that the purpose of having high end GRifts was to give those more committed players an area for competition with leader boards, more specific builds and team meta etc.
Okay, just to remind you guys we talk about fully gearing in hours / days. So please don`t bring the argument "you have no life" when it is discussed if the droprate should be changed...
In my opinion blizz could go into a diff direction without changing the droprates:
I think we have a few examples where you do not gear up perfectly in a few days or even weeks. Two examples are the thornbarb (esp. swamp land throusers....) and the LoN DH.
And that is because the secondaries have to be correctly. So the amount of parameters has risen by 1 or 2. And this makes it much more difficult to get the good loot.
In case of the Barbarian he loses much damage if thorns are not rolled. Expecially on items with potential 10k thorns. If the LoN Dh has +healglobes or lifereg on its gear the build almost does not work.
If Blizzard would make the secondaries important in general there would be more loot hunting. Be it per bounties/breaths or just farming.
Its hopeless to reason with players that says droprates are just fine as is. "I have a life" "I wanna play other games too" "I dont need a game i can play forever" blaaaaablaaaa kraaaa kraaa.
Has it ever struck you boyz that maybe, just maybe ...... this game is not your cup of tea? This entire genre?
It has always been about searching for epic loot, changing your playstyle accordingly as you find new stuff?
Blizzard has made tons if items with different affixes and hardly nothing is used, because you get your set within 15min after lvl70.
We have a difficulty system that is being bypassed because Blizzard sold their soul in the months following the closing of AH.
Remember the reason for shutting it down? JM (Josh Mosqueira) said that it bypassed the loothunt and that it was not the intention.
He said Diablo was about finding the loot on your own, getting rewarded for playing the game instead of AH. He had tons of good points when he closed the AH. Now we have Cain's Gift, like WTF?? we got kadala, cube, mystic, legendary gems, Ramaldinis Gift and very high droprates absolutely destroying the intent behind the game. JM sold his soul, he is a traitor. Game was just fine after the closing of AH, progression were fixed. But then came all the casuals and the game is far worse now than it was with AH. I just cant believe they willingly rekt the game.
I am fine with reducing drop rates to vanilla levels as long as the 'finding loot on your own' stands and they remove all the party boons, or in other words they also bring back vanilla party play. You know, monster damage and health increased proportionally to people in the party etc.
RoS party with vanilla drops? no thanks.
Drop rates should be nerfed to 1/3 of current level, get rid of Haedrig's Gift and upgrading yellows to legendary.
A good Diablo game is about the loot hunt, doesn't matter how bad your gear was, you were always happy to get a new piece, nowadays its just paragon farm for a couple weeks and quit the game because it's boring as fuck.
it should just be part of a bigger evolution of the game. dignifying loot together with more game mechanics. more feasible builds. more gamestyles. deeper party gameplay.
however, a game based on loot needs trade. can't ignore it
but literally anything is better than paragon farming.
99% of oranges and greens become Forgotten Souls and it takes 50 of them to re-roll one normal orange or green you really do need but require the ancient.
There are still some insanely difficult items to obtain. Yang's Recurve, Wand of Woh, Band of Rue Chambers, Slanderer/Little Rogue just off the top of my head have given me great pains. Meanwhile how many people are running around in one of the 100's of Blackthorn's pieces they've had drop?
Diablo III is not a special snowflake game like World of Warcraft where someone with Warglaives either is extremely lucky or entirely too persistent. Do you really want to spend 10-60 weeks getting an item/set like that?
Diablo's end game is all about pushing paragons and GRift levels. I don't care if you're full ancient with 400 Caldessan's on every piece, you may still not be good enough to hit 100's.
If this game were all about gear and had zero skill I might agree with the principle of drop rates being too high. However playing a zDPS monk and needing health globe bonuses on top of vitality, life per hit, resistance and the like can I tell you how many Hellfire Amulets I've had to make to get on with a useful passive, 3 good stats, health globe bonuses AND ancient?
The line of good and great pieces is so big that merely having one doesn't equal its usefulness. We've all had items where the "normal" is better than the ancient. Drop rates reflect that fact.

I agree with you. but you miss one very rare legendary here. Furnace. I Can't get any.

The season is underway. Don't know if I'll make it through.
I spent months on Diablo to have my 'king's axe of haste', it was 20 years ago, I could spend all the time I want farming Hell (without killing diablo of course) just to have another. It was an accomplishment to have a nearly perfect Zodiac at this time.
Now, I found D3 much better than D2, and, even if "hardcore" players (not the ones playing hardcore mode, I mean those playing 16Hrs a day, botting or not when asleep) are not happy with the drop rates, I do not care. I'm the same... Love the games and versions before Ros... Couple of hours or so a day but too many items not worth using, well for me anyway, no sooner get an item then find similar item but higher stats... Annoying that part

Droprates are fine.
The issue is that THE game born for loot-fun/feast has become now a sterile paragon grind.
And it's not because loot is too much, but because there is no enough variety of things to do.
No enough theorycrafting, no enough builds, no enough meaningful synergies: it's just little nerf-big buff to go up with gr/paragon.
It's..just boring.
My advice: make diablo a game, not a paragon farmer.
grind loot, trade it, put a gazillion items with nearly endless combinations of skills,builds,etc...and leave people try builds.
and keep inventing new mechanincs to keep people logged in
STOP just raising the bar every 2months. it's not wow. it's not a mmo...and we're tired.
-and a microtransactions purely-cosmetic store, if feel the need of some extra coins for invigorating devs-
make it a game of build-theoryctafting, looting, trading.
what d2 used to be (or poe, with clunky graphics and a very bad AH-like trade: put back gold AH and stop binding items)...not this mess

No way in the world that drop rates need to be changed.
They are perfect, you can get gear as a casual, but still need to put in a good 100+ hours to get PERFECT gear as a dedicated player.
I feel that the current drop rate is the perfect blend to make sure that there is something to gain for ALL PLAYERS involved.
