Resplendent (Golden) Chests? If they're along my way, sure. Normal chests? No, waste of time.
You're assuming that you're running TX for loot. Those people who don't open chests are running TX purely for the keys. Less clicking on chests = faster rift clear = more keys. In the end, it also means you clear more rifts, so you will slay more enemies and get more loot from them.
Nah, not worth the time. Sometimes I'll open a yellow chest, but thats about it. Better just to get the clear speed down to 2-3 minutes and kill elites quickly.
i feel like so many people press yes because most of people in the Diablofans community are "casual" player. once you are fully geared, you don't need anything else than keys. so, no. i dont open them.
I used to when I was scrounging for all blue/yellow mats possible, but when I started focus farming 4 man bounties the only bottlenecks for crafting were ever forgotten souls and deaths breath. Since chests are unlikely for either of those, I mostly skip them now.

Waste of time yet white chests have a 200% higher drop rate for legendary items than elites or champion packs. Not sure I am understanding how it is a waste of time here.

Always open chests , on one level of a rift I once opened 4 chests in a row and got 5 legendaries . Nice to see double drops now and then This was the Adria rift map .

One thing that always amazed me.. why hardly anyone opens chests in rifts?? I mean all chests, not just resplendent.
Chests for me are 50% of all legendaries that drop. Yet almost everyone simply ingnores them and rush just for elites.

Depends on why am I doing rifts. If I need keys asap, I don't pick up anything but guardian loot.
On the other hand, if I'm just chilling with my friends, I tend to open chests, flip stones, check corpses...

In coop, if I am in front, yes.
In coop, if I am behind, no.
A not opened chest is a lost chance for a Forgotten Soul!
always for sure, forgotten souls are hard to get in decent amounts, so why not?

Always had, always will! My gear has been complete for some time now, and still opening them! Still doing all the stuff!

In general I always open chests. But I never bother with jars and other destructible containers.
If I am looking for gear, I always open chests. But for keyfarming I skip them if they are too far away.
I open chests when I find them on my way, but I don't roam around to open all of them.
