The talisman won't be in the game for now, FelReaver. They decided to leave it for later because it wasn't good enough for them (and I guess they didn't want to delay the game further by iterating endlessly again).
On that note, I don't think I'll miss charms. It was a really annoying way of improving your character.

Gotta agree with you there, I played the crap out Of D2 and than for me personally it kinda went down hill after LOD I still played it but it just wasnt as fun.
I will miss LAN, runewords, HBR_347 (ahhh those nights) , 99 Frenzy pve barb with botdez and lwez, Charsi is hot! i'll miss her, necromancer - he was my first pick, and lore behind him, wd lacks of it imho.
Why are people saying that? We have heard nothing or next to nothing about the lore of each character. Except the usual: this char does that and he comes from here. The necromancers have D2 books attached to them and a well established lore within the diablo universe. So you're right when you say he lacks lore, but it's because he's new in town and you haven't played the guy to feel like a proper Witch Doctor, the experience will probably change you ^_^.
I actually won't miss the music. Am I weird in that in Diablo I, II and in basically EVERY game, I mute the music before I play the game? It bothers and annoys me. I actually did turn on the music in Diablo sometimes, but, it just... ugh. Distracts me.

I'll be damned if I have to climb another tree. From now on the Squirrels and Birds can come to me.
That's the music from New Tristram in the Artisan trailer. If you ask me, it's better than anything that was in D2 hands down, it's pretty fucking creepy.
I'm pretty sure it's nostalgia at work here, D2 had like one memorable song (the Tristram theme! Surprise!). Everything else was sort of partially-ambient creepy background music. And none of it was half as good as that song I linked above.
LOOOOOOOL.

Good joke, I'm dying here. Bahahaha!
To answer the OP, I'm going to miss the following (in no particular order):
- PK. I actually loved running out of TPs and getting run down in the sewers. Maybe B.Net should be seperated? For example-- Normal USWest (that is, USWest with PK) and Carebear USWest (no PK). Everyone wins!
- Music. Music music music. Matt Uelmen WAS Diablo's music.. That garbage linked earlier has nowhere near the potential for memorability as the D2 soundtrack, let alone the original Tristram theme. It's barely even music, it's mostly just random quasi-spooky noises.
- Having more than 4 people in a game. I feel that we should have a higher cap, and the people that like the smaller size of game can manually set it as such. Just like in D2.
- A non-retconned story. Blizzard is getting out of control with this.
Probably other stuff too, I'm just waiting to play the game first.
I am of the sort to mute music too, not too sure why. The Tristram track from Diablo... I could (and do) listen to that for hours. Something grand about it. Will have to give a listen to these recent tracks, and may end up leaving music on for once
I think I will miss my assassin the most. Sure it was rolled up in to other classes, but I would love to see her back for an expansion.

I would say I'm going to miss some of the really great items from d2, but I don't know. Maybe the items in D3 will be that much better.

Can we all just wait a couple hours to get the real details?
I hate the way you cling to ignorance and pass it off as innocence
