How do you feel you will best experience the game and get the most out of it? I'm thinking I will do Act I five times in a row, creating a new class each time I finish the act, and then continue and do Act II this way. Hopefully I'll have the act fresh enough in my mind to accurately compare each class within the same content.
well they're not releasing that much of the game, people have guessed that we might get partial act 1 and arena. I dont think this poll will work out since we dont know what we will be able to play
I will probably do whatever is available with one, then try it out with another.

I will definitely want to try every character, and since my anticipation for all of them are high, I'll probably get one to the end, without endgame, and then start another.
Who's saying that we're gonna even get a Beta pass but if I do, I would probably do a mix of option 2 and 3, play a varied game of all the classes, possibly half or so of the content, this way I can properly TEST (the point of the Beta) all the classes and how they play and interact with the environment, also because I just love skills/spells and want to try them all out. After playing briefly of each character I'll focus on one.

I agree with feminism. I don't think that it's right that for every dollar a man makes, a women gets 70 cents. Why do I only get 30 cents and some chick gets the rest?
Well likely just play all the classes to 30, double check bugs. That is saying I'm able to do this. If it is just Act I then I will likely just play each character through all the single player content.
In almost every RPG ive playd ive never been able to get a character to high level before curiosity peaks my interest and I try a new character ,and see what they are about, I don't see how anyone does this.
Probably be in act 2 or 3 or so then try a new character, by the time I get to fourth character my first one might have advanced to act 3 NM or so ( or my second one if I decide I dont like my first character)
Yeah, if you actually think Act III and Act IV will be in beta, dont get your hopes up
And definately scratch all hopes for completeing "end-game" in beta.... oh my.... to even think that will be in beta lol
In beta I suspect there will be Act I and maybe part of Act 2 or parts of both Act's ( I dont think there will be end bosses, there might be though)I will just play all classes to the end of what ever is in beta. Hopefully there is PVP functionality so I can try that, that will definately kill many hours, weeks, months, up until release.
in terms of actual release of game, I'll definately atleast clear normal with 1 main class before trying anything else, then depending on how I feel I may just keep going through NM and Hell while trying out other classes at the same time
I think we will have like 1/2 of act one. The lvl cap will probalbly be 10 or something... And ofc, the PvP.
Imo D3 beta will be very, very short. Theres no way they can creat a beta w/o spoiling the game. Beta will problably exist to test the B.net, seek out for compatility bugs, gather feedback about stuff like interface and build hype for the real game.
D3 is far from a e-sport. The beta testing will not eixts to balance the game.. the balance will be made after release via patchs.
This is just my speculation, though (no official info).

Honestly, i will have to agree here because of my time in WoW , where it seems no matter how much beta(or public test) they do, they always have a nerf for the overpowered classes within 2 weeks(or never.... damn DKs...lol). making sure a game is balanced for all classes but still fun and keeping the feeling the class is meant to have can be a difficult thing, and for the most part, alot of things wont spring up until the game is released and more people start reporting/bitching on forums... me personally i dont care as long as the game runs and i can blow stuff up without game crashes.
i personally think we will get act 1 until near the end and it will stop short and send you to act 2 until close to the end also, leaving out the bosses. i believe the beta will be there for matchmaking testing and to make sure classes work as intended and there arent any huge software flaws. its been said by bashiok i believe that they are going to keep all the surprises for after the official launch so i doubt the beta will be much to go on, although more insight will be given because theres no way to not reveal more about the game in a beta without making it a hollowed shell of a game....
There HAS to be multiple acts, AND the ability to play in NM, and hell in beta, otherwise WTF are we testing !?!???!?
'' oh yeah, act 1 quest 1 works fine'' ''' i agree'' '' i concur, act 1 quest 1 seems to work perfectly'' ''oh and tier 1 skills seem to be balanced''
that would be stupid. We need to be able to test higher difficulties, acts, monsters, skills etc, you cant check the balance of tier 6 skills on act 2 monsters, especially when it takes you forever to get to said character level.
Eh. I don't even know if I want to play the beta. If anything, I'd concentrate on PvP to get a head start there and to not mess up my PvE experience.
I'm pretty sure the higher difficulty stuff and skills are already being tested by Blizzard's inside, professional tester team. Public betas don't really perform that task very well, they generally exist for other reasons (playability, customer reaction, publicity, stress tests, exploits, etc.).
Most of the game's balance will come out post-beta and get patched, hopefully.

They could test all variety of skill/difficulty lvls within a few confined areas. It wont be multiple acts for the beta. Showing too much of the game presents massive spoilers. Seeing as this game revolves around a central story they want to keep as much of it fresh for release as possible.

Testing quests and the like is easy. You simply have your staff/testers run through them over and over and over again until you know they work. And damage against certain monsters can be done essentially through lining up numbers in balanced ways. They've been extremely careful to not spoil anything about the story so far, so why would they just abandon that when it comes to the beta? If they want us to test higher level skills and the like, they'll give us PvP, not higher difficulties and acts.

As Jackzor mentioned, quests and things of the such don't necessarily need thousands of players to test it to perfection. In the case for a game such as Diablo 3, the Beta is a polishing tool, and not every feature of the game needs polishing to work properly. Many small things will be left unfixed even after the Beta. Even Blizzard have a time frame, and there will be a few ones and zeros out of place that just aren't important enough to fit into the time frame they have. I'm sure they'll choose what we have access to during the Beta very carefully in order to both balance important features, and not reveal to much.
As for the OP, I enjoy playing my characters all the way through until, and into endgame. I enjoy reaching the peak of a class before I move onto the next, in gear, level, stats, and so on. In Diablo, gear is the time sink. Even more so now that we'll likely reach max level by the end of hell.

Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.

thats pretty useless isnt it considering things act differently in PVP

My best guess is that we will have commands to spawn monsters and dungeons.
That way we won't see any act progression, boss, or spoilers.
Like the sc2 beta used to have cheat codes.
