I prefer a staff for a monk and a wand for a wizard.
I changed it so you can vote for more than one. You can think of it as class by class now so if you prefer wand and staff for 2 diff chars you can vote for it now! =D
I will go for the axes for the reason that axes vs sword/mace/staff/etc. in an isometric bird eye view are more visual.

I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.
Also, I'm going to go with the 2-H sword for the barb, staff for the monk and wizard, and either orb/wand or dagger for the witchdoctor depending on the stats.

My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.
I really like the Katars...have you seen the art for them?
#4 looks sweet
I love some of these. Others seem very impractical as far as stabbing goes. The very first one makes the most sense to me. The Sin's Katar in D2 also made the most sense besides maybe the cestus for cutting, not piercing. With a weapon like this, you're really not gonna get a lot of leverage out of it since it's not very long a blade and you aren't swinging like a sword or ax either. It's attached the the user's hand. So to really do a lot of physical damage, it seems the best claw would be one that you can just stab straightforward with.
So like the scissors katar in D2, it was hard to imagine the extra blades on either side of the middle one could do you much good. Obviously if you're thinking about it lore wise, the Sin would have elemental and poison attacks added to her claws so maybe the ability to penetrate with a blade wasn't that essential.
But some of these claws here, while I do appreciate the variety, seem like they'd be ineffective in the practical sense. I'm putting lore sense aside here for the moment to engage in some conjecture, but look at the one in the middle of the bottom row with the four skinny blades. It seems once one of the two longer ones penetrate a target, the other two either slow down or are askewed by the different angle forced by the length. It's a nice and intimidating looking weapon but it just doesn't seem very reliable or strong as a weapon. I guess if a Monk was just fighting other humans and the claws here covered in venom then that'd be one thing.
Now the one on the bottom row, second to the right. This one looks pretty useful in the practical sense. Partially just cause it's shaped like a spade. So a diving thrust into the neck of some demon you'd think would cut is head clean off. I think I have commentaries for each of these but I'd hate drone on like I am now. LOL

The very first one, this seems the best for stabbing. It's basically just a short sword and the two smaller blades on either side are inconsequential cause once you go the blade in the deep, what good are the other two smaller ones going to do? But they could be there more for defensive blows, like if you were parrying attacks coming from the sides and your defense required more side sweeping blows.
The second one on the top row reminds me of the scissors katar which I didn't quite like. That middle blade seems skinnier than you'd want it to be, and the two side ones are long enough to inhibit a nice clean stab with the middle blade. I think with a claw like this you'd actually be clawing your enemies in the more literal sense. Like...scraping them. May seem at best superficial damage, but like I said, if the Monk is using elemental attacks and poisons then even a cut in the skin justifies this claw's lack of impracticality.
The third one on the top row I actually quite like. The knives are each really broad and it seems more conducive to thrusting your fists with a weapon like this than with long elegant blades.
The fourth claw on the top row seems like the second best claw for stabbing with. With those two blades being more or less parallel with each other, and they are each wider than on some claws. It would be my second choice to the standard katar looking one.
This fifth one on the top row never made much sense to me. It seems like it'd be hard to stab anything with a weapon like this. But it wouldn't be much good for slicing either. The two wider blades on either side of the middle spike aren't pointed on their ends. And the whole mechanism looks like it's got a lot of girth but not distributed in a way to give the proper leverage needed two sink three separate points at once into your target
The last one on the top row I think is kind of cool and one I'd like to keep on one hand while having a single stabing blade on the other. This one looks good for just hitting your monster in the face, possibly along the bridge of its nose (if it has a nose) or just right into the eyes.
The first one on the bottom row makes NO sense to me. At any rate, I understand this is just concept art. For all you know, maybe two or three of these will make the final cut and even then look a little different.

Well put. I think #5 could be more of an offhand for pure defense and then use another for the main hand...same with #6.

You should have definitely opened this thread with this video.
I'm not cool enough to do something like that! Very clever though and I'll keep it in mind if I start another thread to do something similar =)
And in all seriousness to my response, I do favor claw class weapons. I just don't like in D3 how they call them fist weapons.
