In D2 when hotkeys were pressed it replaced the skill on your mouse button with that skill so you used your mouse to actually perform the skill. I was just wondering how it works in D3, when you press a hotkey for say magic missile does it instantly cast the skill whereever your mouse happens to be or does it bind it to your mouse and you use your mouse to cast. I know its a stupid, minor question but i want to know, thanks. :thanks:

Boy, if I can't have at least 6 skills on hotkeys and one on right click, I'll not be happy.
Left click is basic attack. I don't care what skills I have, its basic attacking and nothing will make me change that.
Toggling right mouse around is a pointless pain in the ass, be it for 1, 2 or more skills. But for those who love it the old way like D2, they should have that option as well.
My point is, I want a set skill on right click and the other 6 on 1-6. Torchlight did that right, so if they can't do that, its epic fail.
At this point the keyboard actionbar only holds 5 skills and the mousebar 3 (1 tabbed) for a total of 8. I'm not sure how they will resolve the issue of putting potions on the bar and wanting all your skills to be accessible. It seemed in the demo, most classes had skills that made melee attack obsolete early on, and if you're out of energy it defaults to melee anyway.
Thanks for the info, but still looking for someone who played the game for a certain answer

He is specifically asking if pushing the hotkey (1-5) casts the skill associated with it or if pushing the hotkeys puts it on one of your mouse buttons for you ti use through that way. It has been answered that using the hotkey casts that skill but he wants to hear those words out of your mouth since you played the demo
