Blizzard should have a unique Fallen Overseer that has a spawn point in the same room as the butcher, but should chase you through the whole level. D3 needs stonger AI for all monsters, I mean shouldn't all demons be able to open doors? Half the monsters in D2 couldn't get past a closed door.
And an OT question; how many levels do you think the cathedral will have compared to the D1 cathedral.

Some monsters would really be physically or mentally unable to open doors though (if we assume that doors are by definition indestructible in the game). It takes four things:
- The appropriate size (if you're too small to reach the latch, or your hands are too big to handle it, you have a problem).
- Arms
- A certain amount of agility
- Understanding of doors
If a monster lacks any of those, chances are it's not able to open certain doors.
About the dungeon sizes, I'm hoping they'll be the same like in D2, maybe with some more variation. That was about right.
I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed yet...
I just realized that if Leoric is in the game and we are going to be fighting him, I assume we are going to be going into the EXACT same dungeon as we did in the original Diablo. I assume that since the King has been resurrected, so could the greatest monster in the history of Diablo (IMO), the Butcher.
What are the odds that they bring him back and try to use him as a big scare like the original did?
I want a uber Butcher secret, IMO that's the best way to throw him in the game.

Will be changed at some point, I'm too lazy right now.
I don't want to see/fight the actual butcher again but what would be cool is if the random dungeon generator would sometimes give you a room that was the butchers room. It would be a cool easter egg to run into unexpectedly and you would hope for it every time you started a new game.
An updated version of this room:
I dont think they will bring the butcher back. But what i would love to have is maybe going into the cathedreal in tristram and finding a bit of lore on the butcher. That would be awsome!
I too wish they bring back the butcher, i don't care what stupid reason they invent to make him return in D3, all i want is for him be in there somewhere somehow. Hell make a secret level just for him.
I just had an idea: A secret level in which the dungeon is filled with nothing but butcher clones. Think cow level in terms of quantity. I also believe Blizz should bring the cow level back and simply add a second secret level with a different, perhaps more humorous, idea.
As long as they don't ruin it by locking you out if you killed the Butcher, ala Cow King. Hated that.

that would be great indeed! to find his room (all dried of blood with just skeletons hanging, tho) and tomes of Lazarus talking about him!
Maybe they could have all the butcherd corpses hiss in unition, "FFFFFRREESSHHHHH MMMEEEAAATTTT" when you open the door and they all come after you with meat cleavers, maybe the ones missing leggs could crawl, u know, like when he butcherd people theier corpses became possesd.. too out there maybe?
