I dont have anything against Wow, wow pets, or pets in general. But i personally prefer to go butcher a bunch of assholes with my barb and without any help from a stupid npc. I never used Mercs in D2 either.
Like others have said earlier, one man army ftw. And thats how Diablo is imo.
Yea, I mean if I had a pet in Diablo 3 which was from Hell I won't even trust it. I wouldn't even see the difference when i am fighting a big mob because it will blend in with the rest of the demons!

You can't spank a monkey's ass and at the same time try to give reasons why you don't want pets in diablo 3.
Just won't work.
I won't trust mercs if they are called companions and walk close behind me all the time.
They should include both mercs and pets ... make it so the pet over time grows older and the higher you pay for a merc the stronger the merc will be like always.
No, dear God no. I think it could be pulled off relatively successfully, but it feels just slightly outside the Diablo atmosphere; Mercs fill this role in a much richer fashion.

Your implying that they would never insert pets into the game ... like a little demon baby with horns? jking lol
I wouldn't mind it. But I'd rather just be able to buy a pet. Like, what kind of demon is walking around with a wolf? And where was this wolf when I was fighting the monster, in his pocket? He's just gonna walk around with his killer dinosaur and not use it in battle? Bs. Just make an npc that sells them.
I don't care whether they add them, I was just making a point about the logic to whoever said to make pets a monster drop.
Also, they already exist in Diablo, With the druid's wolves/bears/and ravens. And the WD has the demon dogs, can't remember what they're called, so I don't understand how they wouldn't fit in D3. I'm sure they could think of a pet that fits each character.
Either way I wouldn't use one anyway, especially if they're as stupid as the mercs in d2. I'd rather not have to worry about them dying every 12 seconds.
Seems like they only considered other options like 'concubine', 'gaylover', 'somebodytoholdyourhand' to end up with this one.
'Mercenary' is infinitely more badass.

I must admit WD's zombie dogs and mongrels are gonna be fun!
I agree with this.
