Diablo: Co-Op resurrection mechanic getting changed up. No more reagent.
I believe Blizzard's initial concept to help resurrect fallen members during a fight was with the use of a resurrection scroll. It appears that they have scrapped this idea for a new one. What system do you think they will use?

Diablo: @KidSunday The change actually makes it more difficult and has a penalty attached to it. BUT THANKS FOR THE SARCASM
So they are adding a penalty to the resurrection mechanic.

Yeah it's always been instant, the reagent was removed for other... requirements. Which may change, so we're going to keep that a secret for now.

Maybe theres some kind of a grim reaper hovering above your body suckign your soul out, this will leave a timer for your allies to come and kill the demon and free your soul so you can resurrect somehow.
I really like scroll of resurection !! why do you think they have scrapped this idea ?

Don't like it !! I think in many way doesn't work or not be so fun.
I think spell system, respecs and resurection are all connected and it why they change how it's work..

The quote says "no more regants" which means you do not need an item to do it.
I also think it will be some sort of timer and another player has to click on you or do something to res you. I like the idea of fighting off a monster.
I am also glad that they are not only adding the checkpoints but another res system to keep us in the action of the game.

i think you should beable to do it in combat as long as your not hit.
that will bring up alot more intense moments just barely geting the rez off as both of you are sent flying from a blast
I would like it if you can just click the fallen member and a timer appears. He/she is revived after 10 seconds (ish). All nearby party members must be out of combat (no nearby enemies) or resurrection isn't possible. You have 20 seconds (ish) to start the resurrection or the fallen member is forced to respawn at the waypoint. I don't know what would work best between having the 20 second limit only count when the resurrecting isn't beeing channeled, or if it should count all the time. But it would of course not interrupt a resurrection if it runs out during the channeling.
It should also come with a power penality (added to the standard penalty). Like 10% reduced power for a couple of minutes. It is removed when you touch a waypoint. I don't want it to be too easy Your mistakes should hurt.

I like the idea !! but the amount of seconds will need to be balanced, in sense that need to take less time to resurect than going to the check point.
Go click on the fallen member and stay next to him to decrease the waiting time, if you left, the time starting to increase. If more than 1 player click on the fallen member, the time going faster !!
Could be cool.
If you have to fight off a demon so you can resurrect your buddy, maybe it will go like how strong is the player that died, the strength of the demon will be according to the fallen player's strength... So if a high level dude dies, it will be really hard to resurrect him.
You can be in combat but you cannot be hit and there is only a limited time to resurrect them (20-30 seconds). That way its hard cause you have to avoid getting hit or clear the area and then you have to hold down the mouse button on their corpse for 5 seconds or so without getting hit.
Its probably just a channeled spell/skill that you well have a cool down on. But im guessing it wont take too long or put a debuff on the players stats or any thing like that. The player probably can only be rezed every 10 or so minutes. Blizz is really wanting to keep the game a fast paced game. Hence the health orbs.

Maybe a Left 4 Dead type revival.

Maybe you will have to kill all monsters on the screen to res a friend.
Maybe you have to carry a health orb somehow and bring it to your friend's body.
In Borderlands when you die you fall on your knees and you can keep shooting for a limited amount of time. If you succeed to kill a monster you will come back to life, and a friend can revive you L4D style too...
Maybe something similar to this.
I really like my idea of having to fight off a demon in order to res a friend.
I agree. its a great part of Borderlands. My friends and i came to the conclusion that if Borderlands didn't have second wind... we would play it. Something about the fear of dying... you're friends trying to save you but your running out of time and they keep getting knocked back by a monster, on top of that your screen slowly going black that just get my adrenaline going.
the person should have a dying animation, or a "wounded" animation, like you're on the ground trying to grasp the air or something and you have limited health and all the monsters that are around the area try to kill you so you actually die and your party members have to fend them off.. single player people would be fucked though..
I think that there will be some effort from your team to resurrect you. Maybe when you die, your health globe begins to fill with a black color. The other players have to click on you as fast as they can. The more black you have filled up, the less life you start with when you are resurrected.

Yea thats a good one. The more time it took your allies to res you, the more penalties you get when your back up.
I didn't mean multiple times. You just have to click once. But you have to get that click in soon so the player can restart with more life and less of a penalty.

Lol.. I like that idea to. I honestly think blizz gets a hard on making ppl guess at shit. They love to give a small bit of info, just to see what ppl well say. Sometimes i think they use the communities as there brain stormers. lol
So here it is, my final but not final idea of co-op ressurection.
When you die, you fall on your knees and monsters will get drawn to you (aggro'ed). You can still hit while on your knees but your hits are a little weaker and your screen is slowly fading out. Your allies must come fast and kill all the monsters that surround you. The more hits you took from the monsters while you were on your knees, and the more "faded out" your screen has become, the more penalties you are resurrected with.
Falling on your knees will trigger spawning points of small and swarming monsters like Fallens. In each area / act / region, those monsters will be slightly different. In the desert it could be those wasps.
So, your friend died:
Monsters: Will get spawned in squads and rush towards the fallen hero.
The fallen hero: can buy himself more time untill one of his allies comes to ressurect him. HE can do so by killing as much as he can from the monsters surrounding him.
You and other party members: Must get to your fallen buddy and kill off all the monsters that surround him, and click on him eventually.
Now, im not sure how this will work with spell casters because clearly their physical hits wont be as tough as a barb's, so they cant really fight off the monsters that come to take you down when you are on your knees.
Maybe something in the new skill system will somehow work. Something like the first skill you choose will always be available and you can always power it up, etc etc.
Edit: @Tyriddik: man, i posted a thread about a rogue class and one of his skills was so similar to the monk's seven sided strike. I made that thread before they announced the monk so im claiming rights xD
J/k but im kinda sure someone at Blizzard saw my post, and still sees users' posts once in a while on these forums.
