While StarCraft II, an upgraded Battle.Net and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are all firmly pinned down to 2010 releases, Diablo III, StarCraft II expansion packs and Blizzard's next MMO still show a release date of the "next few years". During a presentation in New York today, Thomas Tippl, Activision Blizzard chief financial officer, raved about the strong business done by Bliizard games. He said the division has a full pipeline of content, which he presented in the slide pictured
here.
While the lineup confirms continued World of Warcraft support and a Starcraft II launch in 2010 (with expansions to follow after), Diablo III was marked to be released in 2011 at the soonest.
Well, I still think 2011 won't be out of the question...honestly I did not expect it next year at all. The way I look at it is they will have plenty of time to go through everything with a fine tooth comb and make Diablo III the best of the franchise.
It can only lead to a game that has such a high amount of Blizzard polish on it that it will be a game that will live as long if not longer then Diablo 2, which is quiet a feat considering how the video game market is now compared to 2000. By that I specifically mean when Diablo 2 was in it's prime and not overall Battle.net lifetime, which is nearing 10 years. In the long term it will be worth it for Diablo fans, short term I suggest doing something else and looking occasionally for updates.

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
Interesting but I wouldn't call this good news. We now have to forget 2010 and maybe 2011 (if it's 2011--> late 2011). So guess it's gonna be 2012...which is astronomical considering that they showed the game for the first time early 2008 and they are gonna release it early 2012 0_0 a 4 year development + 3 years of work under the radar. D3 better be worth the wait!
LOL! temp We could maybe assume that d3 will be finished as soon as 2015
Haha, yeah I think I had it when the initial scare was around but never got checked for sure, just had all the symptoms. This morning CNN had some guy on with the caption "H1N1 survivor" like it was a fiery plane crash or the Holocaust or something.
But on topic:
I'm still thinking 2011, but that's mostly just me trying to be optimistic. I would only be slightly surprised if it got pushed back to 2012.
In the mean time I'll be reading the Diablo books (currently just 3 chapters into one of them). I also plan to get Titan Quest and Torchlight to fill my Diablo cravings and possibly go back to Diablo 2 depending on what happens with the patch.
We have already known that Diablo III would not be in 2011. Back in 2008, MD reported that Starcraft II was slated for 2010. It was announced that Blizzard would only be releasing two projects in 2010 (August), Starcraft II being one of them. The other was Cataclysm for WoW, which was stated back in August.
Furthermore, to respond to your reported post, Ralsu, I have never received any PM's from you on the proposed news, nor any other news ever, and to the best of my knowledge none of my news staff did, either, or failed to tell me so. If you did PM one of them and I was never talked with, then I offer an apology and in the future PM me directly.
As for this news, it is very old and will not be making the front page.
I think dec. 21-2012 is obviously when D3 will be released and cause the whole world to go into a frenzy killing each other for it because they ran out of copies.
Or when they announce that they pushed the game back even farther and the whole world goes into a frenzy and kills each other.. shit, I would.

I think it is logical to assume that diablo 3 will be finished in May of 2015.

agreed, we should start making them, just in case....
D3 will be the game of the millennium.
What will be coming out first, Diablo 3 or Duke Nukem forever?

Yo dawg! We heard you like...
Ever since the announcement I've claimed 2012 for release out of gut feeling. I am sticking by that.
