Diablo is unique in it's gameplay and unique in that it's developers already have a massively successful mmorpg on the market.
I wonder how much wow is having an impact on d3 and if more support will be included for guilds, clans etc. d2 even though new patches were released each time u played u none the less played the same game, same quests etc, unless u pvp'd. the world didnt change.. as opposed to say ultima online, an mmorpg of the time, by where the world was ever changing and growing as players interacted. curious to know if they'll keep the same format
I doubt the world will change in Diablo except for maybe an expansion. Diablo is different from wow in that it is meant to be a single player game style. Yes, it does have multiplayey, but the game play remains a single player arpg game. There really is no need for blizzard to add stuff that changes the game drastically.

Can't be too much like wow, because in wow you are interacting with 10s of thousands of people on the same server at the same time. In Dialblo3 the most you can interact with in a server is 3 other people.
In an actualy game it is 3 yes, but assuming the trends from D2 apply, you would have chat rooms to hang out in between entering games. Chat rooms, top out at what 200 people or something?
Doesn't mean you couldn't still have clans and guilds like you do in Warcraft/Starcraft for identidying afilliations.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
