Uhm dude theres like alot of slots on the original inventory window. and yeah it oes give to mcuh space obviously there is a max you can get to but it just gives you too much space enough that you could carry 20 shit items go to town sell for a couple of k and buy a decent equip with it. Thats having too much space. Because as they said gold is more valuable and harder to get more of it so they want to limit how much you can just pickup bring back and sell cause then youd just having people like i said killing a fallen picking up the sort words till their inv is full and go to town sell it all and buy a decent equip or somethign with it.

That picture from the WWI gameplay trailer seems to have 12 slots, what they said back then was that you could expand with bags. But thats an early version of the inventory and yeah their plans have changed but they can still change who knows what kind of inventory they will end up.

That doesn't make sense. They can just reduce the amount of gold you get from selling items and also they can make things so expensive that no matter how much you carry that stuff to the store, the gold stays valuable..
They have many ways to make gold valuable and keeping inventory space really tiny isn't the best way, it might be only annoying when your bags are constantly full.
i personally also like trying to figure out whch is more valuable and which i should carry back. I find that part of the game and it adds it makes it a choice rather than oh a sword gotta get that one.

Seriously, there is absolutely no point in arguing about the name. Its still Tetris STYLE. Its not like we got a real Tetris game. Who should decide when its not close enough to Tetris anymore? There have varying sizes, and you can move them around to make them fit. Fits enough. Pointless arguing.
No, it does not fit enough. What we're talking about here is the "feeling" that we had playing D2. And this feeling was result of have to solve small puzzles whevener you wanted to loot something and you had enough cells in your bag but they're spread around and you had to solve how to reorganize your stuff. Thats the very point of why some people hate D2 inventory style and some love it.
In the Blizzcon Demo the inventory does not offer those puzzles. All you have to do is never let your items spread and allways store the 1x1 items in a vertical order, then you will never ever have to solve any puzzles. Thats why this inv does not have the "old feeling" and blizz dudes know it better then us. They don't want people to solve puzzle to organize their bags and thats the fact of why D3 does not have old style tetris inventory.
I played the demo at Blizzcon this year and can confirm that Identifying is back. You started with identify scrolls and resurection elixirs in your bag.
Also wanted to add, about the *new* tetris inventory, that it is EXTREMELY annoying. Not because it is a tetris inventory, but because ALL the items are 2x1 or 1x1. It is really hard to tell the items apart in the inventory especially if you have a staff and a wand which are the same size in the picture and in the inventory but are 1 handed and 2 handed.
I also had the chance to play the demo at the 08' Blizzcon and experienced the same thing when the inventory was not tetris style. It was really hard to tell the items apart.I would really prefer that they give us different sizes for all the items, even if it means you can carry less and keep the tetris inventory.
Also another thing to note, the red X's over items you cant use is really bad too. It covers up most of the item and you have to study the text to figure out exactly what it is and who its for. IMO, bring back the red shade behind the items you cant use.

I didn't look at it this way yet and you are right. The big X and heck, the big ? are ugly and cover up way too much of the items. They look dumb as hell, actually.

Thank you for the info! Very insightful. I didn't think about the visual aesthetics of it.
and yes, i prefer old, tetris style but it needs to be fixed...till 2011 - BWAHAHAHAHAAHHA!!!!!
hey guys! we will play D3 only till 2012, then the world ends. Pity.
First things first, don't spread world destruction propaganda without scientific proof of the happenings. Now if that comet that is going to hit the earth in 20 years isn't taken care of, thats a real threat, but wtf is going to happen in 2012 that we could not have scientifically predicted yet, the sun going to blow up or something?
Also, as far as Wizards with swords, nobody said it couldn't happen. In fact, Bashiok already stated that you probably will be able to use sword and shield on Wizards, the things they want to limit are wands on Barbs (because those are ranged now), and two handers on casters (because it doesn't make sense).
And finally, on topic, I personally like the new inventory style. So what if a sword is the same size as a wand, who gives a shit? They are both functionally the same (a weapon). ALL weapons and armor that I have seen will take two slots and all smaller items will take one. Is that unfair? It doesn't have to be 100% size equivalent. In fact, I hated the D2 system, it was really stupid in my opinion. This new style is a great mix between their original D3 style and the old D2 system.

There are no stupid questions, just a bunch of inquisitive idiots.
As off toppic as this is here t goes. One thing noone knows how to predict. World distasters, that is a very big theory the ultimate cataclysm that essentially will wipe us all out. Most unlikely. The World explodes. Currently Unlikely. The sun explodes. Perfectly possible but we dont know if it will as we don't know how long a star must be alive to explode. The worlds poles shift, What i think will happen. Most logical to me. It hasnt happened in over 600 million years putting at a good spot for us. And it is suppsoed to happen over years of time. so we wouldn't really feel the effect tilll later. some say it happens in a days time. In that case crop failure starvation new migration patters diffrent climate zones. A star exploding close by could create a powerful enough supernove and therfore explode us. A comet big enough destroys mar and some of the astroids are hit enough to come directly at us. Theres a million possiblities. But noone knows for sure as it can't be scientifically proven. And the meteor in 2030 or something is much more of a threat because we still currently do not have technology to deflect meteors. Not that hard to do if you think about it. I mean exploding it into miliongs of bite sized pieces is a perfect solution. But then again wed be pelted with mini pieces which could still kill us. solution would be to stay inside. Now to the poinbt of the tetris style nventory its fine and perfect for diablo i really want it liek this obviously with some improvements but the general idea of a tetris style inventory is fine.

If Cain is sticking around like the boring fart that he is, identifying items in bulk for free, then yes, there's no point to unidentified items and it should simply be done away with. If it's like in Diablo 1 however, an expensive and cumbersome goldsink, it'll serve it's purpose well.
Well actually, whenever I found something that could be a godly item, I identified it immidiately to find out "what good I found!".. mostly ending in disappointment, but fun tho.
actually its very plausible with the black hole they tried creating. IT didn't work in 08 but they're still trying so in 3 years maybe they do something and it explodes creating another big bang therefore destroying us all?..thats the most plausible reason so don't say it's not true yet. Everyday theres a threat to the world and noones doing nything about it cause it may further research of the world, or it could just blow up the entire universe lol retards in sweden
