Hey what do you guys think about putting achievements into diablo 3
I thought it would be a cool thing to add so you want to keep going on to complete it after you finished the game. There might be mini bosses spawned in random places that get you achievements if you kill them.
EDIT: And also what do you think about class achievements.
I will be surprised if achievements are not included in the final game.
SC2 will have loads of them, WoW has even more, Diablo III is sure to follow. I think it's safe to say SC2 and DIII's achievements are going to be more interesting and exciting to attain than WoW's though
achievements don't do anything for me.
they are a fake way of adding replayability where there is none.
completion of achievements is just basically a way of adding length/girth to a gamer's e-penis
having said that i would still try to complete the achievements, i am a completionist when it comes to games and i hate leaving things undone
achievements would be cool. Nothing game breaking, but would be nice to see little side tasks you've accomplished. Maybe even special titles for your character or items given to the character would be interesting

I agree, titles are nice.
Don't know why, but I always want a cool title for my character.
Like Diablo 2 had when you cleared a difficulty, like slayer etc. I always thought that was pretty cool.
Well I noticed you get XP bonuses when you kill an X amount of monsters in rapid succession, so I'm sure there will be an achievement for killing like 100-200 monsters in a row... Which would be ridiculously awesome...
Oh an on a side note, I noticed that for StarCraft II, the Battle.net interface showed a tab called "Statistics", and it would awesome if Diablo III had a statistics tab to keep track of all your deaths and kills and % of unique items found
Personally I hate them, one of the reasons why I quit World of Casualcraft.
Anyway think its safe to say that they will be there. All I'm hoping for is the option to hide statistics/achievements and make them only viewable for friends.
Remember the armory? Killed a lot if not all privacy...
Whats so bad about other ppl seeing your achievements? or the armory in wow?
Vanity items would be awesome rewards for completing achievements
I'd rather have more meaningful rewards, like +1% to health or some other small enhancement. Nothing large enough to go out of your way to get it, but a reward nonetheless for devoting the 1000 hours to gameplay I plan on doing...
Achievements in wow I thought were a joke, hopefully D3 achievements will be better. On A side note, the armory in wow imo was not intrusive in any way since everyone, in the end, had the same damn items anyways. PLus, looking at the specs everyone had was sort of dull since if you were looking at, lets say a mage, you practially saw the same three specs over and over again. sorry for going off topic.

This.
The way they presented SC2 and battle.net 2.0, its pretty much a big part of it how you have achievements and all that jazz.
In my eyes, its "confirmed" that achievements are going to be in D3.

If you are looking for privacy, why are you playing MMORPGs (or any other multiplayer games) to begin with?
Those kind of games are about the opposite of privacy - having your character/avatar be there for everyone to be seen and interacted with.

Yep. This has been confirmed.
