Hey guys, just browsing these forums, I saw so many suggestions of what the final class could be
Most say it has to be a ranged physical dps, others say it has to be a summoner or shapeshifter..
I was thinking Apache Indian..
1) Bow and arrow, yarrrrrr indians!
2) Indian folklore speak of both feral spirits aiding the indians (being their forefathers)
3) Indian folklore contains shamanism of people turning into wolfs =P
4) Fits with blizzards intent of cultural differences
Thoughts? (I'm really really sorry if this has been suggested already x_x)
...
On a sidenote, who the fuck is the Hyuuga Neji fan that designed the monk
Hmm I personally think the fifth class could be one of this two options:
If it's a class we already played: a druid who uses bow and can shapeshift
If it's not, then it'll be a bow/spear/javelin/trap class, amazon and a little assassin.
Some kind of north american aborigin with bow and some cool spells (thinking of nightwolf right now) would be good, though.

Now THAT's an idea! I could totally go for a class like that. Would be baller.
obviously it couldn't be named Apache though, seeing as how Indians (or whatever the politically correct term is now) don't exist in the world of Sanctuary..

SORRY BOUT THE EXTREMETIES OF MY POST I RAMBLED AND I DON'T FEEL LIKE DELETING THIS CAUSE MOST IS THE INFO OR EXAMPLES TO BACK MY CALIMS SORRY X.X
I perdsonally feel the most logicall class would be to actually recreate the WoW hunter because it could summon pets to go toe to toe with enemies while the hunter backed up and just did his long range damage. But in any case Indian, asian, eskimo, russian, korean, american, african, what ever they choose it's look and feel to be i believe it has to be a ranged class with a summon skill tree DEFINITLEY NO SHAPESHIFTING. The only reason i deny the shapeshifting is because in D2 the Druid couldn't use any of his skills besides summon while in werebear or werewolf form. He could only summon or uses the skills in that tree of shapeshifting. So with that if your a Freaking bear or wolf i highly doubt you need a bow or xbox and we've already confirmed bows are in the game so I think its safe to say any sort of ranged summoner. and while were talking about it I believe it would not be indianbut rather somone from xiansi, aka a colder region, due to the face we've seen the monk native probably to the desert a european feel, the barbarian native to mount arreat as confirmed by Diablo lore an american feel, Witch Doctor as and african indian tribal feel probably from the jungles down in kurast around those areas, The wizard is definetley asian oriented and i cant figure out where shes native too maybe the lower island or somewhere correct me if im wrong, but that leaves xiansi and those island to be determined where these two come from and the wizard doesnt have much armor and the islands seem somewhat desert like hotter than up north in xiansi so that would explain the heavier armor of the archer because they need protection from the cold as well. overall it just seems sensible to have an arctic type character when your diversifying the origins, maybe russian canadian something high north towards the poles i believe .

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Rep'd for that idea... Thats excellent, it has all the elements of a ranged/nature character with animal pets but its unique. Its not the typical cookie cutter hunter like most other games. Just like how i feel about the monk. Now the character doesn't need to be exactly like a native american guy but something along those lines.
I think the Apache idea is awesome, and if this thread was around before blizzard announced so many classes already I would almost expect a class like that! I think Ent1ty's guess suits what the game needs more though.
No sorry needed lol, I think your post is really good, and changed my mind on what the last class is prob gonna be like. I think you're right on the money, I could picture it in a strange way. When i picture the new class now I picture a person with a beard dressed in fur covered mail class armor with snow on him, and a long bow on his back, a dagger in in a sheath to his side.

You are really wrong on the regions. The Wizard is already confirmed to be from Xiansi, snowy and cold, hence the many thick robes and has a very Asian influence.
Did you even play LOD? The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth. Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees.
The Monk is not European at all, it is middle eastern, desert area. Witch Doctor is foresty, Central/South American.
So I think the Native American style class works best because they were found in every single climate throughout the US, from bitter cold Rockies, to the deserts of Arizona, to the Redwood Forests of California. Also, the North American continent isn't represented yet, along with Australia, but both have a very similar feel, and both of those continent's native peoples have many resemblances.
As for Shapeshifting, I actually agree that this class won't be able to, or at least it will be very limited. Something I would much rather see is attacks that have animalistic spirits aiding in the attacks. Such as a Grizzly strike with a spear that is a heavy, slow, powerful, sweeping attack. A Cougar strike which has more chance to hit, but less damage. A Snake strike which is little damage, but super super fast, hits multiple enemies, and poison damage.
As for bow attacks, how about a Crow attack that would be a bow and arrow attack that deals extra damage and blinds. Maybe a Wings of Eagles attack that he is able to jump up and out of the way of enemies, hover for a second or two, and rain down a slew of arrows. I could go on and on about these attacks. There is a lot of room for cool attacks with this class.

It would be really similar to the WD in terms of cultural influence being tribal and all that's why he's probably not gonna be in the game.
Edit: but i do agree that it would be an awesome class!

Maybe.
This is tough on my spirit.
I am really interested in seeing what Blizz comes up with in the end
Great idea. Blizzard, take note!!

Barbarians are Tribal.
