I am the only one who thinks that we have only still seen areas of act 1. They have mentioned how the acts will be much larger and cover more area than in D2. It is more than possible, especially since D3 is two years away, that they have still only shown us parts of act1.

No if you read one of the homepages post yu'll see they said they use one type of area for each zone or act. My guess is this is again act 2. and they are much farther than you think id say they're doing concepts for the final act. Act 2 here looks like it has a good base and i wouldnt be suprised if there somewhat done with the third act and starting up the fourth act maybe doing concepts on the fifth (if there are 5). They already starting the final class too so i wouldn't be surprised if it was anywhere from 50-75 % complete with the game.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
The area shown with the witchdoctor, and with the monk definitely look like different acts, kinda like the ones in d2. I believe they're probably around 75% done as well.
Yea I do think I heard something somewhere about act2. Weather it be rumor or offical im not shure.

Why would you have any reason to think it was anything other than Act 2, as opposed to it in fact being Act 2?
Well, for
1. I give Blizz more credit than repeating at least the first two acts from D2.
2.they have mentioned increasing the size and variety of each act.
3. If the game is still two years away they might still need a lot of time for environments which is actually one of the most time consuming parts of the game
4.as far as i know, there has been no conformation that the desert is act 2.
5. there is a lot of sanctuary we have to visit and if there are only 4 acts then the last 2 have to cover marsh land, dreadlands, swamplands, xian sai, shrival wilds and scosglen.
6. Caldeum is very close to tristram and within walking distance making for an easy transition without needing a seperate act.
Those are just a few reasons why i would think this.

I personally think it would be interesting if the story started out in the desert/Caldeum area or some other region, and then go back to Tristram further into the story rather than at the start. It would be kinda unexpected, and would perhaps allow them to shed some light on the peoples from other areas of Sanctuary. I also think the idea of "going back" to the Tristram area would be cool, rather than starting there like the first two games.

Tristram is ACROSS THE SEA FROM CALDEUM.
Honestly if you can mess that up I'm not sure you're worth the time it'd take to respond to your other points.
But, since I'm a nice guy and you're clearly too lazy to spend 5 seconds with Google for yourself, Merry Christmas:
I'm guessing that what we saw with the Monk was Act 2. If someone could confirm what they said when they showed it though, that'd do it because Blizzard is pretty good about keeping things on the hush hush...unless they want us to know. So if someone recalls them saying that, good chance it will stay as Act 2.

To those still thinking it's possible the Borderlands / desert area shown at Blizzcon could potentially be part of Act 1, please simply consider this:
The areas shown last year (New Tristram / Tristram Cathedral / Leoric Highlands / etc.) are quite literally all the way across the world from the Borderlands area(s). While it's very probable the the acts are going to cover more geography in comparison / context with D2's acts, there is absolutely no way they'd push it to this degree. Please God, let it go.

Confirmation of Belial in D3, specifically in Act II, as we saw in the Monk trailer.
You're welcome.
The rest stands though. Yes, it is Act II. Yes, Belial is in D3.
