I was watching a live stream, and right now it's on Starcraft. Here's a quote from it. (Paraphrased from my memory)
"If you'll remember back to games like Starcraft 2 and Diablo 2 who used the old battle.net structure, each game had their own account structure within the game. And of course if you left for an extended amount of time, you're accounts would get deleted. With battle.net 2, we will never have to do that again. *big applause*"
Sorry if this is already known, but I had no idea.
Cool to have it officially announced, but it was kind of assumed. Data storage has gotten remarkably inexpensive, so it makes sense to store our shit for longer than 90 days
I actually had a run in with this in the current season, I left d2 for a while, and logged on with like 2-3 days left on my Main MF character. Was nice to not have to start from scratch.
I wonder how the b.net 2.0 revamp is going to affect SC1 and D2 play.
I'm more worried about characters expiring.
Any news on that?
Maybe that's one thing the people who pay will recieve.. non-expiring characters.
If they do eventually decide to have the categories paying and non-paying players.

Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.
No, it says in the FAQ that only games including WoW and newer will work with the new Battle.net "2.0" system.
Ahh, ok. I meant more along the lines of (How or if) it would impact it. I also haven't read the FaQ - The live chat on the homepage crashed the browser on my iPhone and I've been out of the loop for a few hours

I can certainly say that is a welcomed addition. I know I lost about 3 or 4 accounts (each with 8 characters/mules) on it, due to expiring over the 90 day limit.
Sometimes people take extended breaks, and want to go back maybe 8 or 9 months later. Whats wrong with that ?? I had to say goodbye to several 95+ level characters because of the limit, and now I feel like re-installing D2 again and playing, but I wont because of that.
Huzzah!!!!!!! The expiration date was the only thing that kept me from playing battlenet, and isolated me to single player. No more worries! I AM AT PEACE WITH BLIZZARD!
I've lost several 95+ characters as well due to the expiration limit. I would love to go back and play D2 again, but as another poster stated, I won't because they expired.
