We all discussed wether or not these two would be in the game, but their powers seemed to be somewhat overlooked within the diablo community.
Simply put, what powers do you think these two will have ?
Remember, Belial is the lord of lies, and Azmodan is the lord of sin. These 2 facts will probably have a significant impact on how you imagine what their powers will be, and it's good to know beforehand which each one governs.
Anywho, as for what I though..
Belial- Being the lord of lies, I imagined this guy would have some serious misdirection/confusion skills up his sleeve. Powers like teleportation, disorienting the user (such as making the screen go wavy, or blurring the screen), switching the weapon set the player was using, ect.
As for elemental attacks, cold seems to fit this guy quite well. I can imagine him having some standard cold attacks, maybe even some more annoying ones like Baal's Hoarfrost.
Skills like mirror image would also work very well with this guy, maybe even a skill that leaves behind a mirror image of him, while letting him go invisible to sneak up behind the player.
Azmodan- It's pretty damn hard to imagine what sin would translate to as for powers.
So I'll give a sin-by-sin breakdown of what powers I imagined him with. Sloth - Simply a power to slow down the player, both movement speed and attack speed. Gluttony - Perhaps a skill that lets him consume the 2 nearest health orbs, and heal him ? Greed - Only thing I could think of was doing damage based on the combined worth of the player's items, nothing else came to mind. Lust - I honestly couldn't think of anything for this one, hopefully you guys will have better ideas. Wrath - A power that functions like a rage, like giving him increased damage/IAS/whatnot for a small time, and leaving him somewhat weakened afterwards. Envy - Perhaps a power that takes the percentage of health left for both Azmodan and the player, and does damage based on how much more health the player has than Azmodan. By this I mean health left, not total health (hence percentage). Pride - If, by chance, Azmodan has more health than the player, the player will take damage based on how much more health Azmodan has (again, in percentages).
Aside from these special powers, I can picture him using fire skills, they seem to fit well.
So anywho, thats how I pictured the overall powers of these 2 guys, what are your ideas for them ?
Feel free to go in depth as possible, and don't feel the need to follow the "Seven sins" thing, if you want to do it differently, by all means do it differently.
Anywho, throw down some ideas !

Haha, yeah I was kinda wondering if I should go by the sins as defined by christianity or not.
Not a christian myself, but I just thought that those sins were the ones that most people are familiar with, so I went with em.

I thought Azmodan was just the lord of sins in general. Like you can hate someone without committing a sin against them. But I guess you can't really terrorise them, or destroy them, or lie to them, or cause them to suffer pain or anguish without committing a sin. He's pretty generalised.
I believe Azmodan is the lord if sin not in the sense of every "bad" action is a sin. By that logic Azmodan should be the greatest of all demons because sin is almost the definition of what a demons are and do.
I believe "sin" in diablo's mythology is the corruption, the self degradation caused by the endless seek of power of something else.
Though the lords title in diablo really don't tell anything to me. I don't think Diablo is more terrying then his brothers and Baal holds a more destructive power then Diablo.
Hmm, so basically they're both harassers in a sense? Not so much brute force, aka Diablo and Duriel, but more tactical encounters. I like that.

You could always go pokemon and have the character fall in love with Azmodan temporarily

That's obviously not the case though.
I have to agree with you though, Lord of Sin sounds better than Lord of Corruption.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Don't get carried away by thier names. For example, mephisto don't really fight you by swearing with words like shit and fuck. I'm sure they posses destructive power.

Yeah, I didn't really picture them as brute-force encounters, since they were lesser evils (thus, less powerful) I imagined them having to rely more on tactics and subterfuge than just pure brawn.
And I'm not even going to try to deny it, I was SO close to posting up a pokemon-style lust power. But in the end, maturity got the best of me.

Obviously, but their epithets should at least carry over to their powers in part. At least that's how I always imagined it.
Hopefully all Evils will be revamped in D3 to better suit their titles. And Mephisto was in my opinion always a slightly underdeveloped boss in D2. His one unique skill is the skull lightning, the rest asre just characters skills they given to him. Compare that to Diablo and Baal who come with their own arsenals of unique animations and skills.

Andariel, the Maiden of Anguish: kills you using poison. How much more agonising can you get than a slow and painful death?
Duriel, the Prince of Pain: has a cold aura that cannot be blocked. What's more painful that ice that is so cold it burns and reaches you right through to the bone. Hmm, though it is kind of odd because it would be so cold it numbs your senses, making you not even feel pain. Perhaps and aura of fire would have been better, to burn your skin off. But fire is a bit too cliche.
Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred: 'hatred' can lash out at you in pretty much any form. Same with 'destruction' and 'terror', really. I guess thats why they are considered brothers.
i think with all the bosses there might be summons. Because how would you get health orbs then unless they drop when you do damage to the boss so i think we will be seeing summons.
One of the things i'm eagerly waiting for is the interactive environments. I wonder how extensively the bosses will use this new feature. For Belial being the lord of lies, I'd love to see some audio worked into the fight, like he'll yell before doing powerful attacks to give you warning, but sometimes will play you false and either not cast on a warning, or give no warning and cast. I think having audio cues would be a cool element, and you could really have a lot of fun on Belial with it, messing with player's heads and all
Agreed, he needs some disorienting audio.
One idea that was suggested was the random ghostly screaming, like tormented voices screaming at your character.
Belial will definitely be the biggest mind-fuck of all the bosses so far, he should be at least, if Blizzard handles it well ^^.

Lust - Summons a mob of Succubi
Oh well.
I was trying to think of things that would directly affect the player, summoning completely slipped my mind ><.
