I remember playing as a necromancer for Diablo II and getting mad when I saw one of my skeletons just standing in a corner away from all the others, not attacking. Sometimes this even happened with my mercenary.
The only real control you had over your skeletons was to summon them, or unsummon them. Maybe right clicking the portrait or pressing a hotkey could bring up a little bar with some SIMPLE commands for your summon or temporary mercenary.
For Mercenaries there were the offensive/defensive types. Maybe for your summons you could put them on "offensive" or "passive" mode. Or activate the command "attack" and they could attack a group of monsters.
I don't really want to see complex spell casting for your summons, ones that you have to take time to individually select every time you want them to attack. But just easy commands like "attack [target]" or "defend me".
If there are quests that require you to protect something maybe you could gain a command like "protect Deckard".
Those are just some of my ideas, with the addition of the Mongrel for the Witch Doctor I think addition control over pets is a good idea for Diablo III. Add some ideas or make comments on what you think, thanks.
Yea you really need control over them because like you said they either get screwed up in the corner or you just want them to do something more specific.
But there won't be enigma on D3 so I think Merc and summons will be smarter and wont stand somewhere and will attack the stronger monster or something like that, I also think that they'll adapt to the situation.

Instead of posting here just for the sake of trolling you should simply report the tread.
And why do you bother answering to me like that then?
Does that make any sense to you?
I'm not trolling. Just stated a fact. I don't give a damn what you think otherwise.
Need I point out revives :/.
