I played D2 since I was 10 and on Bnet when I was 13. I have played D2 for far longer than what Xfire says as I only found out about Xfire within last year I believe. (I am 18 now and I will turn 19 this October.)

Would be kinda pointless to make a healer class...especially if and when a melee character leeches its own life back to full health and/or a spell caster in the background potting whenever it wants.

Using as many potions as you want and leeching life is not coming back - At least, not for now.
It's not Diablo. A healing class just is not right. In WoW, sure. It's an MMO, it's supposed to be played online. But Diablo is primarily single-player, even though a lot of people say it's not, it is. A healing class would be extremely hard to play through the entire Diablo 3 campaiqn in singleplayer.

I think it would be alright to have a damage/healing spell like D2 Paladin's Holy bolt in D3 but that's as far as it should go.
One of the reasons I stopped playing WoW (besides the huge time commitment) is relying on other people to do what I want. If I wanted to do an instance, I needed other people. I want to be able to do whatever I want whenever I want in D3.

What? Healing can be repeated, a maximum increase can't. How can they be equally effective? If your hp is 1%, the maximum increase won't save you from death, but a healing skill can.
Healing can be repeated only if it have no coldown. And a healing skill will not save you from a killing blow, but 30% max hp can.
Only way I could think some party healing was as a part of some damaging skill. Some finisher move on dying monsters that would heal the whole party when the monsters die. But I guess globes cover all the healing we need.
Blizzards main objective is that any type of party can go trough the game and we wouldn't have to make a compromise about party composition. Anything that can kill stuff is good.
