I'm really sure that there will be cinematics in important events maybe short but still they're cinematics and blizzard has stated that there will be as many cinematics as in D2(if not more)

I know this doesn't count as a cinematic, but the new and improved conversation system in D3 does make me feel a closer with the characters. Thankfully enough it happens quite often too

I hate to burst your bubble but they have removed the chat system. They said they removed it because it took away from the emersion of the action. They still talk just not with the cut scene we saw in the game play movie. That way you can walk away or pass it I you don't care or have heard it a hundred times. I feel the same will apply to the cinematics. I think they will definitely have them a the beginning or end of an act but that will be it.

I really enjoy cinematics. Honestly I do. The first couple times through the game and then whenever I wanted to use them via the main menu. However, after a while, when you just want to get through the game to work on the (pathetic) end-game stuff that was mindlessly addicting, like getting perfect stat (or just good) gear, killing those ubers in no time flat, et cetera, the cinematics just become annoying.
An obvious solution to this would be a toggle option.
I do hope we get a decent amount, though. At least the amount we got in Diablo II. If, however, they decide to add more, I feel that the game should also be longer, because I don't want to like do a quest CINEMATIC, then another CINEMATIC. However, they already confirmed that the game will be about as long as Diablo II, so I don't know about it.
Those are, of course, just my personal opinions, but I guess there would be very little sense talking on here if we didn't share our opinions.

Uh?
Can't just click once when a cinematic starts?
And having or not a lot of cinematics doesn't have anything to do with how they break the action, or whatever. These cinematics (and especially with the level of quality they have now, which is their standard for any cinematics not rendered in game) probably cost quite a good bunch of money to make AND must take a lot of time.
They can't just spit out 20 of these in the game unless most of them show nothing, or they all are super short.
That said, they could include cinematics rendered in the game, but somehow I'm not expecting much in that. I think they will want to show some neat things, but let the player move during them (like these summoning animations, or boss' entry animations).
I don't know how ACTS will work in Diablo 3. It may not even means "going to another town and starting quests again". Generally, I'm expecting the big stuff in the storyline to happens at the end of an act, and I wouldn't expect any cinematics elsewhere.
Oh, no. It doesn't work like that. What I'm talking about is no black screen interruption. If you play mini-screen you'll see what I mean- no interruption, just loading the act and it's done. Even if you click you still have to wait a bit which is annoying to me.
If you're not in favor of it, of course, you don't have to use a toggle

Its just that I never found that little interruption to be worth mentioning. Oh well. Of course a toggle wouldn't hurt anyone.

Oh no! DAMN!!!
I really loved the idea of the movie-style dialogue. Why couldn't they just add the option to just click and skip the dialogue? DAMN!!!
How about the option given when installing D2? If you didn't choose full-install, it would ask for you to switch to the cinematics disc before playing the cinematic at the end of each act. Then you could click cancel and it wouldn't waste much time at all. I don't think this worked for LOD though.
Maybe a similar system for D3, or even the toggle would be nice.

I still say you will get a cinematic after some big event or boss fight to help break up the acts.
