Just found this on google, turns out the art community has fans of Diablo ^^.
This statue isn't being made by Blizzard, so we probably won't be seeing it on shelves any time soon, he's just another fan of the game making some great artwork.
Looks pretty incredible so far eh ? The detail on the face blew my mind across the room.
The eyes in particular look pretty insane.
Anywho, if anyone wants to get on this guys website and pop him some support, heres the link. http://www.mantlestudios.com/diablo-iii-unburied/

Turns out he's painted it, and still wants to do more !
You can find his post with the news, along with some news on a contest he recently entered, on page 2 of this thread.
I'll move the front/back pictures up front for quick access, but if you want to see some of the more intricate details of his statue, go to page 2 for all of the pictures.

damn thats sick... is he going to color it? or...? cuz i know that u can like burn the clay and then paint it or something... thats if it is clay, or however you call that stuff.
Yep, he should probably be colouring it quite soon.
Also, for any warcraft fans, he's got an Illidan statue on the go as well.
Both are still in the works, and have yet to be painted.

Hey Guys, thanks a lot for the great response. I was wondering why my little blog got a ton of users, found this forum and wanted to say thanks.
Despite not blogging about it for awhile, I'm about 2 weeks from being done. I completely redid the skulls on the bodies, I have at least another two nights of sculpting the body left, then I've got big plans to make a castle floor base with broken off pillars, if I have the time.
I'm actually carving this in wax, and then making molds of each piece, casting them in resin which hardens to rock solid... I will then assemble a few of these statues and paint with airbrush and regular paintbrushes. These will be actual statues you would put on a shelf. I need to make a few, I'm entering it in a few contests, and I want a few for my portfolio. I may give a few away in a contest as well.
Hey man ! Glad you've found the forums ^^.
Well hell, you could easily start giving them away on this website lol, I'm sure we'd be happy to receive a couple.
Also, if you want to post links to your blog once you've updated the models, you can use the fan art section in this forum, would get you some extra users on your blog :D.
Anywho, keep up the good work man ! Looking forwards to seeing the finished products, as well as your next project.

I just wanted to share some fun news with everyone here, you guys were so supportive of the piece here on the forums.
I entered the "Diablo III: Unburied" in the Marin County Fair this year and I won first place! Now, this isn't your regular fair. Oh no... the Creature and Model competition is judged by the guys who formed Industrial Light and Magic (now known as Kerner Optical)!!
I'm completely floored!
Getting this thing to a state where it was showable was a crazy adventure in itself. I didn't even have time to cast up the tattered clothes he wears. I had to make a base from scratch. Leading up to the submission day, I had bought and studied the ModelMania DVDs to learn airbrushing.I spent 3 hours airbrushing this thing (the first thing I ever painted) the night before I had to submit it. Then, at 3:30 am, I go to put a wash on the guy to bring out all the painting I had done and I STAINED THE WHOLE THING. I just sat and looked at it, realized I had not put a coat of Dullcoate on it at all, and realized I had to keep going. It totally sucked, but there was nothing to do but keep going.
Anyway, here are some pics of the piece. I will be casting another version, after I make molds of the new base I sculpted, and that will have real cloth for the tunic. But I am also molding clothes to be laid over him as well. I want to redo the entire paint job too, add mottling, make his mouth shiny like it is wet, etc.
I'll update pics of the new base and a version of the sculpt with real clothing that I've made grungy.
Regardless of whatever went wrong with it, a huge amount obviously went very right :D. Congratulations, this is an amazing little piece. Good luck with any others you do.
Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.
Very talented artist you are! I'm looking forward to your other projects cause this one sure kicked ass :D. If I had one suggestion to make for your future Unburied (if you really have the intention of making another one), it is the feet. The original unburied didn't have toes but multiple foot to serve as toes ;)!

I'll make a huge picture update this weekend, so keep stopping by the site. I may post a teaser of the next one I'm working on, the Shaman Fallen One (http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/world/bestiary/thefallen.xml)

What gets me is that you say you want to do more ^^.
If he looks that incredible now, I can't want to see how you finish him off.
